The Old Manse – Disappointing Visit and Poor Standards Unfortunately, The Old Manse fell well short of expectations. The entire place felt sticky and unclean, from the tables to the menus – not a great first impression. The food was sub-par, even by Greene King standards, lacking flavour and presentation. To make matters worse, we arrived 15 minutes before the kitchen opened at 12:00 and were told we couldn’t place an order, even though we were happy to wait and menus were already out. It just felt unnecessarily rigid and unaccommodating. One major concern was the baby change setup, which is inside the disabled toilet – not a problem on its own. However, the bright red emergency pull cord is directly next to the change table. Any baby will instinctively grab it, potentially triggering a false alarm while the parent is busy. This is a design flaw that really needs addressing. Sadly, not somewhere I’d rush back to. Rating: ★★☆☆☆

Vile food. Ordered the steak sandwich x2 and it came with overcooked steak, cream cheese and nothing else. It was bland, chewy and dry. Raised this with a member of staff called Christina, who I understand is not her fault directly but her dismissive and uninterested service did not aid the situation. She disappeared for 15 minutes then returned to say we were lying, and the chefs had included melted cheese and crispy red onions despite seeing a photo of it herself. As you can see, they did not. Must add that the girl serving behind the bar was lovely. However the way they dealt with our query over the misleading food was appalling.

Absolutely love this hotel. We have stayed here every year for a number of years and always enjoy our stays. The rooms have everything you need, large flat screen tv, comfy bed, tea, coffee and biscuits and some also have a bath The food is also very good, I had the Mushroom & Ale Pie and my wife the Sunday dinner and both were superb There is plenty of choice on the menu, even for myself who prefers vegetarian

A Hearty Meal at The Old manse, Bourton-on-the-WaterA Classic Cotswolds ExperienceThe old manse in Bourton-on-the-Water is a charming pub in the heart of the Cotswolds. With its traditional stone exterior and cozy interior, it's the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring the picturesque village. The FoodOn my recent visit, I opted for the classic fish and chips. The dish arrived piping hot, with a generous portion of crispy battered cod, chunky chips, and a side of mushy peas. The fish was cooked to perfection, flaky and moist, while the batter was light and golden. The chips were equally satisfying, fluffy on the inside and perfectly crisp on the outside. My mate chose the steak and ale pie, a hearty and comforting dish. The pie was filled with tender chunks of beef and a rich, flavorful gravy, encased in a flaky pastry crust. It was served with a side of creamy mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The DrinksTo accompany our meal, I enjoyed a pint of local Guinness, while my mates opted for a pint of real ale. The pub offers a wide selection of beers, wines, and spirits, including many local brews. The AtmosphereThe atmosphere at The old manse is warm and inviting. The pub is full of character, with exposed beams, stone walls, and a roaring fireplace. Ricky and his staff are friendly and attentive, and the service is excellent.OverallOverall, my dining experience at The old manse was delightful. The food was delicious, the drinks were excellent, and the atmosphere was charming. I would highly recommend this pub to anyone visiting Bourton-on-the-Water.Rating: 5...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this fabulous hotel, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly greeted by the attentive staff and made to feel right at home. The impeccable service and attention to detail truly made my stay memorable. One standout aspect of my experience was the exceptional management by Ricardo. His leadership skills were evident in the smooth operation of the hotel and the high level of professionalism displayed by the entire team. Ricardo was always accessible, approachable, and went above and beyond to ensure that guests like myself had a wonderful stay. Every interaction with the staff was pleasant and efficient. I was particularly impressed by the proactive approach to guest satisfaction by the team. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel enough, thanks in large part to Ricardo's excellent management. I left feeling truly valued as a guest and will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you to Ricardo and the entire team for a truly...
