So we visited the Model Village in Bourton-on-the-Water β and yes, itβs a model of the actual village youβre standing in, which feels a bit like taking a selfie with a painting of yourself taking a selfie. Mind-bending stuff.
The craftsmanship is actually impressive β tiny houses, teeny churches, and even a small-scale river thatβll make you go βawwβ whether you like it or not. Youβll feel like a benevolent giant roaming through Cotswold Lego-land, peeking into miniature windows and wondering why even model people seem to have better property than you.
But hereβs the rub: as quaint as it is, itβs not quite the crown jewel of Bourton-on-the-Water. Itβs cute, yes. Fun for 20β30 minutes, sure. But would I tell my future grandchildren, βYou must see the Model Village before you dieβ? Probably not. The actual village outside β with its scenic bridges, tea rooms, and ducks with attitude β is far more magical.
So if youβre already in town, pop in, have a giggle, take a selfie pretending to hold a house like King Kong, then treat yourself to a cream...

Our little one was fascinated by the tiny buildings, miniature trees, and even the sound of the choir inside the model church. It was a great opportunity to slow down and explore something unique together as a family. The kids loved being βgiantsβ among the small houses and pointing out places theyβd just seen in real life.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, and everything was very well maintained. We also enjoyed the small garden area and the additional model of the model village β such a fun concept!
Highly recommended for families looking for a charming, quirky outing in the Cotswolds. Donβt miss it if youβre visiting...

Overall a great place to spend some time enjoying the scenery of this amazing...
