Where do I being, so visited on Sunday 4th June, we ordered two cream teas, which cost 8.95 each, total 17.90. Didn’t think anything about being over changed, until I returned home and I had been by 5.70. So phoned The Willow and they agreed I had been over charged, asked if I was still in the village, no, I had returned home, could I pop back to get the refund, no, it would cost me more in petrol to return, so he said he couldn’t do anything about it. To cut a long story short, they were going to send it by post, never arrived, but it was sent, but I haven’t sigh for it. They then but it back on my card, only for me to go into my account and find I’ve been charged again, so say they have stop the payment, then the final insult was the phone went dead when I was talking to another manager. So my advice to anyone thinking of going to The Willow is, pay cash or check you account before leaving the village or don’t bother and go...
Read moreWhat can I say about THe Willow. Disappointing doesn't quite some up. Arrived to be given a snide comment as we booked for 7 people but we're actually 8 and let's be honest you always get a table for 8 anyway. They went to close the patio doors as it Ema tarred raining and the guy didn't realise our daughter's scooter was resting there and he damaged the handle, not even an apology. Our drinks order got lost and it took over an hour for starters to arrive. Then our main courses took another 30-40 minutes to arrive, when we asked we were told they were just being plates up but we saw 3 tables of food come out from the kitchen before ours did and another 10 minutes. If it was true out food was being plated up then it was sat waiting like us. The staff were very poor and didn't check in on us at all and we had to keep chasing them. The food wasn't anything special. Would recommend people try a...
Read moreStopped at the willow in the lovely village of bourton-on -the-water for lunch , my wife had fish and chips which was acceptable for price charged presented well , portion size good and nice and hot , I had the fish pie and i am regretting that , the portion size not great presented in a small round bowl , the seasonal greens that came with it again portion size poor just a very small bowl on the side, the fish pie was the worst ive ever had, the potato topping was very thick and the pie filling very poor a lot of green veg which I assue was something like leeks. The sauce very runny but worst of all was there was very little fish and what thin white fish that was in there still had the skin on. I have never seen unskinned fish in a fish pie , when I mentioned this to the manager he just said ok ill let the chef know , lovely village very busy , but I will bypass the...
