A bit of context: Last night I was an American tourist. I have also lived in the UK for 4 years 2011-2015. I like curries but American attempts are enough to make you think you may dislike this cuisine.
This unassuming restaurant front leads to an intimate upstairs dining room. There, we were greeted by a friendly host who entertained and helped navigate this interesting menu. His cadence was excellent.
The restaurant is BYOB. The menu contained numerous outstanding dishes. We tried Shatkora - a drier curry prepared with a citrus-y deep flavor. I learned this was a traditional Bengali dish and it was both excellent and unique. We had the vegetable version which was a mixture of cauliflower, potato, and peppers. We also got the Murgi Keema Buhna (a chicken buhna with ground lamb in the sauce.) Outstanding. The peshwari Naan was served with honey drizzled, a nice touch. The curry came with rice, which was aromatic and had been twice cooked (once steamed or boiled but then finished on a flat top grill.) All of this is excellent.
Since we are in Bourton, you might think this place would cater to the high tourist volume. It can, I am sure, but this is truly an authentic curry house and definitely worth the visit if you are in Bourton for an evening. It really shines if you are sick of the usual pub food.
Overall the food was great. The service was great. The price was very reasonable. I'll be back next time I...

Rating: (minus 5 stars, if possible)
I'm still trying to recover from the gastronomic trauma inflicted upon me by this establishment. The food was an abomination, a culinary catastrophe that left me vomiting for hours.
The "dish" I had the misfortune of ordering was a supposed "gourmet" burger. The patty was a greyish-brown color, resembling a fossilized relic more than a juicy beef patty. The "toppings" consisted of wilted lettuce, a slice of processed cheese, and a few sad, limp tomato slices. The "bun" was stale and tasted like cardboard.
The first bite was like a punch to the gut. The "meat" was dry, flavorless, and had a strange, gritty texture. I tried to power through, thinking it might get better, but each successive bite was a new level of hell. The "seasoning" tasted like someone had poured kerosene on my taste buds.
Within minutes, I was rushing to the bathroom, praying to the porcelain gods. The vomiting was relentless, like my stomach was trying to expel the evil that had been inflicted upon it.
In conclusion, avoid this place like the plague. Unless you enjoy torture, food poisoning, or both, stay far, far away. Zero stars isn't enough; I'd give it a minus 5...
Read moreI have been this restaurant yesterday with my friends . First of all the server was so rude to the other guests. We have been noticing it for a while he was the one who started the argument. Then the guest started arguing with him. And even after that he said the guests to leave the restaurant. And then about the food. If it was Bangladeshi food don’t keep the name as Indian restaurant and spoil the name of Indian recipes. The food was not at all tasty and biryani is like vegetable fried rice mixed with chicken fry pieces. I would really recommend everyone who went to watch coastlands. Don’t even waste your time eating there. I have started vomting since last night because of the food colour they use and bad...
