A lovely, tranquil and quiet place. Great for relaxing. I often spend my lunches here on the workshift. At the one end, you have a huge fountain surrounded by short stone walls containing an area of grass to sit on and flower arrangements / flowerbeds. The fountain doesn't spray and in the sun, it's lovely and peaceful to sit here. Surrounding this, a stone walkway and some more wooden benches in a circular arrangement.

From here there is a road that surrounds the fountain (of which, the other side of the street contains links to the university, some workplaces, the docks, queens arcade and the city centre). Alternatively, a path to larger part of the park. This park being a long, narrow(ish) walkway with plenty of grass and areas to sit, eventually leading up to the Hull College. The walkway, situated with numerous benches, trees towering either side of the stone path and the grass area (which in contrary to my usage of the word narrow) is in no way small and actually plays host occasionally to events for small festivals and the like.

There is a little bit of noise pollution from a nearby building site but this isn't the park's fault and these things happen. It's not overly disturbing but would be nicer without. Gave...

Could do with maybe a food court or something, but there are plenty of places to eat in the area, and you can still see the odd people bringing food with them to sit out and eat, especially in the summer. Throughout the year the gardens are used to host several events, and when not are a nice sight all the same. Due to undergo a facelift soon so the metal fences dotted about unceremoniously to prevent people falling in the water will be removed. All the same though, I'd definitely check out the gardens...

Beautiful especially at the moment with the flowers blooming. The smell of the flowers is wonderful. Hard to believe it's in a city centre. For a quieter experience if you wonder down away from the fountain towards the statue the park is much more peaceful and you get a lovely view of the top of the city Hall. I visited on a very sunny day as my garden doesn't get any sun and I had a lovely few hours sunbathing and reading my book in a peaceful environment and then wondered 200 yrs or so into the city....

Lovely park with plenty places to sit and take in Hull’s atmosphere! Unfortunately the fountains were getting some maintenance when we visited which is great in the long run but it meant that we couldn’t see them in operation! It needs a bit of a clean too with lots of pigeon poo and feathers over the paths!

A great place to relax for a few minutes, nice part of Hull where the docks used to be a lot of history in this part of Hull to discover. See photo of Queens Gardens, formerly Dock offices behind me now known as maritime museum and town hall with the green top. A good place to shop with lots of bargains.
