Alice in Wonderland — Attraction in Anaheim

The Baseline: For a theme park attraction, a quality experiences must be provided, the attraction must be fun and engaging, an immersive environment must be established, the queue line must be themed, and safety must be a top priority.

Attraction: This dark ride has been around since 1958 but has got some great updates as the years have gone by. This gets a 5 star nostalgia boost but it is a great ride experience with several of the Wonderland characters and music from the animated film. Updates with projections and Disney Imagineer upkeep of the ride makes this almost 70 year old ride still fun today. I especially love the part of the ride that takes you back outside then back inside. It is a great experience.

Queue: The queue is outside only but is well shaded and the real entertainment comes from either watching the Tea Cups or in our case the Paint the Night parade (July 2025) that was going by. It is a good queue and a reasonable time to wait would be around the 25...

My husband and I were able to get on this ride during the parade with little to almost no wait. Having read that the front seat has more leg room I gave that to him while I sat in the back.

It's a 3 minute ride in a caterpillar shaped car as you revisit Alice and her following the White rabbit, her encounter with the caterpillar, the deck of cards that were "painting the roses red" for the Queen of hearts. Then you meet the queen who shortly summons "off with her head" to Alice after a game of flamingo croquet.

I had wondered if we were going to see the Mad tea party scene with the swirling cup ride so close but it was there-both inside and out. I was happy to see the Mad Hatter and the table and of course-very merry "unbirthday" outside.

Alice in Wonderland is one of those classic Disneyland attractions that's guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. The line for this attraction moves very quickly. And once you board your caterpillar that's when the fun begins. I was happy to see how beautiful the colors inside were after all these years. Yes the zaniness of Alice's adventure through the rabbit hole is still as fun and exciting as I remember it. Tweedle de and tweedle dum are still there. The Cheshire cat is still smiling down on you. The beautiful flowers still serenade you and watch out for the evil queen of hearts ! Or it's off...
