Read moreFor attractions that stand the test of time, this one is a hit. Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki room was the very first fully animatronic show and is still in operation just inside the gates to Adventureland. The staging area is separated from the main path and there are seats to relax in while you wait for the show. Listen as each Tiki god introduces him or herself and give you a brief description of what they do.
Enjoy a Dole Whip or Dole Whip float from the Tiki Juice Bar that is accessible from inside of the staging area and don't worry about having to hurry up and eat because they allow you to bring your treats into the show.
Inside you will meet Jose', Michael, Pierre and Fritz. 4 parrots each from different countries. They are your hosts for the evening's production. After some light banter, the show begins and a wonderful display of sights and sounds begins.
"In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki room all the birds sing words and the flowers croon". Even the tiki gods on the walls eventually come alive and start to chant along to the music.
The show doesn't last too long but it's a nice change of pace from the outside park and very worth seeing at least once in your life. It's entertaining and nostalgic at the same time and takes me back to a time when Walt Disney himself used to roam the park.
I'd say that this attraction is a must see. You'll get an appreciation for the old and the new all in one sitting.
Have fun and thanks...
Read moreThis year is the 60th anniversary of the Enchanted Tiki Room and it is just as enjoyable as when Walt Disney designed it. The Enchanted Tiki Room was Walt's first invention of audio animatronics and it pays off here. Originally intended to be a restaurant it was changed into the attraction as we know it today. Everyone sits on flat benches surrounding the center fountain and everyone has a good view of all the action around you.
Photography is not permitted during the show but it always starts with your cast member waking up your host "Jose" He in turn leads the other tropical parrots into a tropical serenade that will have you singing along with them. Opening with the Tiki room song the water in the center rises to bring down the white birds with their French names to sing "Let's all sing like the birdies sing.." From there each and every part of the tiki room comes alive with songs and drumming of their own until it climaxes with a tropical rain storm!
The entire tiki room joins in a grand finale and then Jose tells you to give them a standing ovation. While you are standing he tells you they will perform a magic trick-"they will all make you disappear!" Singing the Dwarf song "Heigh ho Heigh ho, it's out the door you go..." You find your way into the Tropical hideway refreshment area. Be on the lookout there-you'll find an escaped bird, Rosita.
This is the full show as it was originally given. Definitely classic Disney...
