We have been going to the Atlanta market for over 17 years but due to Covid we haven’t been in over a year. I heard from a lot of our reps that the market was doing a great job and it was safe. I trusted the reviews from the reps and needing product for our stores, we went to the most recent apparel market.
First, let me say that is was packed. We arrived on Wednesday and registered. We weren’t really sure what to do once we registered as they mentioned something about getting a temperature check. We walked in to building three and no one stopped us or took our temperature, so we continued on to all the temps and showrooms for the rest of the day.
On the next day we asked a few more questions about where to get our temperature checked and we went through the entire process. We wore our masks the entire time in the mart but were very concerned when we saw many reps and customers not wearing masks in the showrooms. We had an appointment at a small showroom, that was packed with over 50% of the people not wearing masks. We couldn’t believe it. We had heard the mart was doing such a great job and everywhere we looked in the showrooms people were without masks.
The next morning I asked at the temperature check who was in charge so I could tell them about my experience in the showrooms the previous day. I mentioned there were multiple showrooms not wearing masks and the woman told me the Mart can only control the mask wearing policy in the common spaces and the temps, they can only recommend the showrooms have a mask policy. I was blown away by this. I am a breast cancer survivor who owns a small business and I thought I was going to a market that cares about it customers. I am so disappointed and not sure what we are going to do for future markets. I don’t particularly want to risk my life in an unsafe...
Read moreI came to AmericasMart for a multi-day trade show, and honestly, I was blown away. The sheer size of this place is no joke — it’s basically three giant buildings packed with showrooms, vendors, booths, and more escalators than I could count. It was a little overwhelming at first, but once I got the layout down, I actually appreciated how organized it was. Each floor had a theme or product category, and there were plenty of signs (and staff) to help if you got turned around.
The location is unbeatable. I stayed at the Marriott Marquis right across the street, and I could literally walk from my room to the show floor without stepping outside thanks to the SkyBridge. That came in clutch during one of the rainy afternoons.
Inside, the facilities were clean, well-lit, and spacious. Bathrooms were easy to find, Wi-Fi was solid in most areas, and there were plenty of places to sit and rest your feet (which trust me, you’ll need). The food options inside were decent — a bit pricey, but they had solid coffee and easy lunch options if you didn’t want to leave the venue.
Security and staff were also great — very professional but approachable. I felt safe the entire time, and entry was smooth with badge scanning at each building.
Pro tip: Wear comfy shoes, bring a portable charger, and plan time to explore. There’s so much to see, especially if you’re into fashion, gifts, or home goods.
Overall, AmericasMart ATL is a top-tier convention venue. Whether you’re attending for business or just exploring, it’s built to handle huge crowds without ever feeling chaotic. I’ll definitely be...
Read morePlace is huge. Definitely need to have map of bldgs and floors to find way around. They also have an app you can download that may assist. I say may because it isn't very intuitive and if you search for a particular place a map pops up with 'pins' all over the place and the only way to tell which place the pin corresponds to is to hover over each one and you know how that is, the place you are looking for is usually the last pin you hover over after you have already looked at 1o different others. Also noticed that it seems many suppliers have moved out. Some have moved to Miami Circle which is still in GA and a few others have moved or are moving to the Highpoint Market in NC. AmericasMart is currently renovating many of the areas in the buildings so curious to see what they will do and if that will add to the appeal of suppliers setting up shop there or for those who are there to continue. It seem like the gift and apparel side had very little attrition. But the furniture, housewares, textiles, etc seems to have had a lot of suppliers, and...
