I will start by saying that overall I did enjoy myself and had a good experience. Upon entering everything was nice, clean, and smelled good. However, also upon entering I found out that the elevator in Macy's was broken which was not good for me as a person with disabilities and who uses a rollator. Thankfully I was able to have the strength to hold it on the escalator going up and going down. But a person in a wheelchair would have been screwed, and the elevator outside in the garage was also broken. That is completely unacceptable and inexcusable. All the workers there were nice and friendly and helpful, even though the security guard seemed like you didn't really care; but it was nice to see how they all looked out for each other. On a layout note, I do wish that the activewear section was closer to the the rest of the women's clothes, and also Plus Sizes don't need to be segregated to the upstairs! But overall everything was neat and clean, not a whole bunch of clothes on the floor. I like how Things were color coordinated. I will say as a whole the sales were not as good as they could have been and or the initial prices of the clothes were too high! One of my biggest issues here though is that the store closes at 9:00, and I feel like I should be at least 10:00 p.m. for the day and age we're in- we're way past time to be recovered from covid and people need to go shopping person to be able to try things out properly! And then it would be helpful if they give you like maybe a 10 then a 5-minute warning as to when the store is closing instead of just saying we close at 9:00, but it's also important to make the customers not feel like they're being rushed. It definitely played on my anxiety and my mom's when I was there the other day and that shouldn't take away from the experience. The biggest issue I had though was that when we got home we realized an item was missing, and we looked on the receipt and we had paid for it and the cashier had forgot to put it in there. And I understand that mistakes like that can happen, but when we tried to call customer service the next day, guess what there was no Direct an easy way to look up and contact the customer service, and we ended up trying to call the department in the store and never got a call back. My mom had to end up going there in person, and that's not an easy trip for her just to get the shirt that was supposed to be there in the first place only to be apologize to by the manager and told there was no customer service for in the store experiences which is just insane to me. At the end of the day I love Macy's, but I am not in a hurry to go back there, for one of the biggest retailers in this country this last fault that I mentioned in particular is just really unbelievable to me; still beware...
Read moreCame in to buy 2 Hamilton watches as gifts. Went to the watch counter and was finally approached by a worker after about 7 min; I understand y it was busy. I showed her the pictures of the watches that I wanted and she asked and said, “what we have in the counter is what we have. What are their numbers?” She was referring to the Macy’s product number; but how am I supposed to know that..? It was very hard to understand her at times and she was very rude. She happens to be a middle-eastern woman who was wearing a hijab. She did not know anything about the watches. She kept saying something about “Mazzie, mazzie…”Then I realized that she was actually saying, “Macy.” I said, “oh, you mean M-A-C-Y.” She go mad at me for correcting her pronounciation; she wanted me to download the Macy App….so I could tell her the product number; instead of her just looking it up. (How can you have an employee that can’t even province the name of the store?) She kept telling me some of the other watches were similar to the ones I was looking for, but I kept telling her I wanted the exact watches I showed her because they were the ones requested as a gift. Finally, I found one of the watches that I wanted, but not the second one. I told her I would buy the one watch, but I asked if she could look to see if another Macy’s had the other watch. This upset her. No other stores had it and she did not offer to order it. Apparently, she was angry at me. She mumbled under her breath. Threw the one watch I wanted inside the counter; and slammed the counter door shut. As she walked away, she mumbled, “order online.” The impression I got is that she did not want to sell me the one watch. I wanted both watches, but I wanted to buy the one Macy’s had and then order the other one online. In general, it was a very disappointing and demoralizing experience. It is not hard to be polite and smile; she was very unprofessional. She did. It know anything about the watches and got upset every time I asked a question. I know customer service is very hard work and I understand that sometimes people have a bad day; but the aggressive way she behaved was completely counterproductive for all. I don’t understand….why not sell me at least one of...
Read moreI am VERY upset and dissatisfied by the customer service I received yesterday 5/5 by a Macy's employee(blond hair) in the women's perfume department. I noticed a Lancome perfume that was on sale and inquired about the price after testing the scent..(come to find out she was a Lancome representative sent to the store .)
. Afterwards, I came up to the cashier who was in conversation with someone else who had already checked out.. . She NEVER acknowledged me. She didn't tell me she would be with me in a moment or ANYTHING.
I had to say hello to her, and inquire about the price of the perfume again... I then asked about the free gift the sale came with, but ONLY WHEN I asked the about the free gift is when she told me that the Roses were for mother's day as a free gift.
I then went to pick out a nice rose and was greeted by a much more pleasant employee (dyed electric blonde)who helped me pick out 2 roses in a different area. After i got the roses i went back up to the main cashier, who took her time bagging, still not smiling or making eye contact.
Her attitude and energy came off very negative . I felt purposely discriminated against for the color of my skin. TO TOP ALL OF THAT OFF, she DOD NOT put my perfume in the bag, but took her time putting the 'free' makeup/makeup bag in.. unfortunately i didn't check the bag before walking out the the main mall area.. later that evening was when i realized there was no perfume in the bag.. I live an hour away from Tyson's corner mall so it was an inconvenience .. I had to call the Macy's department store that evening.which was even a nightmare, as no one answers the phones.
I called 2x . And got thru the second time after speaking to someone else about the missing perfume i already paid for.
. I called back and told the rude cashier who rung me up, that there was no perfume put in my bag , and i purchased it today. She DID NOT apologize..instead, she said ,' yes, I have your perfume right here with the receipt ' If i could give this 0 stars , i would
! Treat people better. You Only had ONE Job to do , and couldn't do it. Also, I'm not sure why she is there to do anything with customer service.
