Nothing bad to say about the gelato itself. Tasteful high quality products. However, service is questionable and leaves a sour taste in your mouth. How do you explain paying for items and being unable to get what you paid for? Not a peak hour, not a lot of people standing in line, not short staffed, not teenagers working their first job, no valid excuses. Just plain unprofessional and unexplainable behavior. I paid for 3 gelatos and took over 10 minutes to be served, however people that just walked by to try flavors got their samples prior to someone who paid for service and tipped 20%. When the lady behind the counter finally calls me up, I got closer and we both confirmed my name. After confirming my name she just looks at me then turned around and walked away. I waited for someone to help me and she comes back and tells me to move out of the way so that she can pass out free samples to the people in the back. This was truly the worst first time experience I have had at...
Read moreWaiting in line at Amorini Gelato feels like waiting to meet a celebrity — and honestly, when they hand you that cone, it is a celebrity. This isn’t just gelato. It’s a full-blown art exhibit on a waffle cone. Each scoop is sculpted into delicate petals, so you basically get to hold a gelato bouquet. (Roses are red, violets are blue, Amorini serves gelato shaped like flowers too..)
The flavors are as impressive as the look. My coffee + caramel combo was so creamy, so rich, so true to flavor that I briefly considered proposing to it. Presentation: flawless. Taste: flawless. Regret level: zero.
Yes, there’s usually a line. But it’s the kind of line where everyone is smiling, because they know the payoff is holding the prettiest dessert in the mall — and maybe in all of Tysons.
Pro tip: Take a picture before your first bite, because once you start, that flower is gone faster than...
Read moreI love this gelato, but unfortunately the service is terrible and we will not be back. It was not busy, just a few people waiting to be helped. The salespeople did not want to assist anyone with samples/taking orders. They saw the customers waiting for assistance and blatantly ignored them. They were not busy doing anything. After waiting for a while in line, one of the male salespeople stated that we could order using the screen. We said no thank you and requested to just order at the register instead. The girl at the register immediately said no, and that we had to order at the screen. She then walked away. Us, and several other people decided that it wasn’t worth it and we decided to leave. Poor service has a huge effect on business. Unfortunate that this shop is hiring staff that does not care about the success of...
