IZAKAYA CABIN — Restaurant in Crested Butte

If you're looking for an unforgettable sushi experience (in a landlocked state, no less!) Izakaya in Crested Butte is an absolute must. We opted for the Samurai experience, which is similar to an omakase, and it was nothing short of spectacular.

Our server, Jared, was so fun and made us feel incredibly welcome. He ensured we were well taken care of throughout the evening. The sushi chefs, Conan and Ike, were true artists, crafting each course & piece of sushi & sashimi with such precision and care. The flavors were so fresh and vibrant, we felt like we were sitting in a sushi bar in Japan.

The meal itself was a journey—each dish perfectly complemented the last, with unique and surprising flavors that kept us excited for what was coming next. It's clear that the team at Izakaya takes immense pride in what they do, and it shows in every bite. I'm still dreaming about the Hamachi!

Izakaya Sushi & Ramen is an incredible dining spot, especially on Monday Ramen Night! Their vegan ramen was absolutely to die for—rich, flavorful, and satisfying in every way. The fried cheese curds were a revelation, with a perfect crispy exterior and soft, melty center that left us wanting more.

The mochi dessert was the true star of the show—delicate, chewy, and bursting with flavor. And don’t skip the spice bombs—they added a fantastic kick to the meal, taking the flavors to the next level.

The service was another highlight. Despite ordering through an iPad, the servers were attentive, friendly, and made us feel completely at ease. They checked in regularly to ensure we had everything we needed, striking the perfect balance between efficiency and warmth.

I have eaten here several times. I do not even love sushi, but I love this place! The shaved ice drinks are awesome! Tonight I had their winter special drink which was fantastic (OK, I had two) as well! Duck wings appetizer, which were really large legs, are my favorite item I have had at a restaurant in a long time! All the rolls are great as well. This place ticks all the boxes and is a treasure in our small mountain town! Our server was Abbey and I cannot praise her enough. She was so friendly, engaging, kind, and bubbly. She saw my son and I were deep in conversation after dinner and told us the table was not reserved after us so we should stay as long as we like--so nice of her. Ten stars. Thank you and...
