One Year in Dallas: What Spots Have I Actually Citywalked?
?!?!
I've only been to this park during early hours around 5am and am giving it 5 stars because it's the only one in downtown where you can do 1-200m sprints. It did look nice with a pond, trees, and spaced seating, though. There is also ample lighting. On a side note, downtown roads are empty and mostly lit around 5am, so you can run freely to and through all the downtown parks before traffic rolls in.

What to say about Akard Plaza? It's a nice plaza to get some peace and quiet because the roads around it are calm. It's in front of a government building and the public library. However, some areas smell like dog duty, and there are many homeless sleeping and relaxing, which is totally fine but might make it less appealing to tourists.

Stone benches are a bit neanderthal. Contoured metal benches are more appropriate in this day and age surely? Even in winter! There seems to have a change of mind about sleeping (in the daytime!) Perhaps a hint of common sense has penetrated the city!? The previous paragraph was a mistake. I guess we, the homeless, have learned to live with it. There are rumors of "tiny homes "outside of town,...

This is a great place for a great view of downtown Dallas. I pass this plaza often. It’s the location of City Hall. I was taken by the huge flags flowing in the wind. Especially at night as the lights shine around and illuminated the flags. There is a tiny pond right out in front with a fountain. I like seeing the water as it spurts upward. I’m looking...
