Overall, it was okay. Stayed here for 3 weeks straight and counting...
Towneplace is floors 6-9 while Fairfield Inn is floors 2-5. There are separate banks of elevators for each of the Marriott brands.
Like you might expect, the suite has the basics that make a longer term stay doable. That being said, there is no oven and the stove top has two tiny "burners" that is barely big enough to make ramen or soup with, using a sauce pan. You can use the frying pan that's included in the suite, but the burner only covers 1/3 of the pan's surface. Don't count on having access to the rice cooker or slow cooker. Other long term stay folks will likely already have it, and apparently, they don't need to return it during their entire stay. Even my Ambassador status couldn't pull any sway in getting access to these $10-20 appliances.
If you don't like working out in a gym where it feels like a "fishbowl", you're going to hate this gym. Some privacy glass film would be so great instead of having everybody who is heading to the Fairfield elevators take a gander.
Some of the following issues could have been due to COVID, but it was a bit of a s**t show in some respects: Garbage collection was pretty sporadic, and we were left with trash sitting outside our front door for 2 days straight a couple of times Parking is a nightmare - the older valet is pretty rude sometimes and doesn't actually do anything. The younger guys, on the other hand, were actually pretty good and provided great service. When self-parking, there's a good chance that you won't get a space, even though you've already paid for it. (That has ended though, and it's 100% valet now) Calling down to get towels (since there was no regular room cleaning service due to COVID) was really irritating. We'd call down 10+ times over a half an hour period and nobody would pick up. We needed to resort to taking the elevator down, and asking the front desk clerk, who wasn't even serving anybody, but was too busy to pick up, for towels, and then wait the 20-30 minutes to actually get them. For the smaller (hand and face) towels, we just ended up laundering them ourselves so we wouldn't need to ask for more. We were here during spring break, and the hotel flooded with kids, who were up all night drinking and being loud. Stay away from this hotel during spring break if you're not...
Read moreI was there for about 7-8 days . My hotel room got serviced daily but my sheets never changed , they just got folded and fixed back in the bed. They were dirty and every day I would get to my room I checked to see if they had changed them but they didn’t. Also, 2 days prior to my departure i noticed that housekeeping didn’t even go to my room at all. Seems like they skipped it. The breakfast wasn’t all that of a real breakfast. They didn’t even serve egg and when they did it was limited. I literally had to go to my room to make me some. But the worst of the worst would have to be the Valet hitting my 2018 Ford F-350 Superdutt Platinum! And I described it completely to show that it’s not a cheap vehicle. The lady hit my back dual wheel fender and pushed it in, it got damaged. I made a clams and since they don’t have cameras they denied the claim. I spent 8 days and did valet for ever single day, that’s over $220$$$$ Ridiculous because the first day the guy at the valet told me “ valet is better than the lot across the street, think about is as insurance for your truck..we keep it safe” yea right!! Then come to find out they ended up parking it over at the lot across the street for a few days .
Also, the valet guy came at me with a disturbing comment “ men your truck runs very fast!! I like it. I didn’t have anything to do one morning and I took it to park to the other lot, it’s nice it picks up speed very fast and you can’t even hear the turbos “. How professional is that? This was the older man there. Overall, this has to be one if not the worst experience I have ever encountered in a hotel . Definitely would never I’m a lifetime recomend it to anyone. I would rather stay with all the homeless ppl that sorround the hotel if TownSuites was my only option. Seriously y’all need to re consider the ADVANTAGE VALET (PLATINUM) Company . By the way GABBY Was the one I talked to at the claims place and I had to literally drive there because once they knew what had happened they kept forwarding my calls and I told them I was leaving certain day . She seriously waited till I left town to send me a email stating that it was denied. She made me get a quote and everything. Also the room smelled like moth balls and it penetrated all of...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars then I would. This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. Upon arriving to the hotel we were greeted by the valet and it was $30 for them to park it in front of the hotel in a gated area with a fence that looked like it could fall at any given moment. As we waited in the lobby to be checked in we were then again greeted by not 1 or 2 but 3 drunk guests. Though there was security on the premise, it still didnt change the fact that literally anyone, and I mean anyone was getting onto the property. As we waited for the only elevator to take us up, there was a guy pacing back and forth, staring at us and mumbling under his breath that was begging for cigarettes. The elevator also had a sign that said 2 people per elevator ride and literally no one was enforcing it so 8-10 people would shove themselves in at a time with no regard to the fact that there is a global pandemic still taking place. We waited through three elevator rides in order to ride on it without that many people. Most of the guests on the premise were drunk, loud and obnoxious. When we finally got to our room, we still couldn’t even get comfortable because there was screaming, bickering and commotion outside of our room. The stay was so unpleasant that I booked another hotel for the remainder of my stay in Dallas because I did not want to be here over the next few days anymore. When I called front desk to complain about the noisy guests on our floor; she sighed and apologized almost indicating that this is a common occurrence. Online this hotel advertised that it had complimentary breakfast available, it didn’t. I woke up at 7am to get breakfast for my boyfriend so that I could avoid the flood of people we ran into last night on the elevator and in the lobby, but they didn’t have it available. What they did have though was coffee, yogurt and muffins being served from behind the front desk by a representative. This was truly the most uncomfortable, and poorly organized hotel I’ve ever been to. I don’t recommend it at all. The only good thing about it was when we got to our room and didn’t have to be in any of the common areas. Spend the extra money on a better hotel because this one...
