Dania Pointe is 102 acres mixed used development that is going to consist of hotels, luxury apartments, shopping, and restaurants. It is one of the largest development projects in South Florida right now at a cost of $800 million dollars. The complex resides on the property that used to be Boomers. South Florida's only roller coaster the Hurricane once stood where the development is now located.

The first phase of retail is now open. There is an Ullta, Beauty, Five Below, TJ Maxx, Brands Mart, Verizon, Starbucks, Aspen Dental, Shoe Carnival, Men's Warehouse, and Hobby Lobby. Slated to come are a Padrino's Cuban cuisine, Too Jays deli, and Firehouse Subs.

I came over after lunch in the area to check things out. Right now only a few stores are open with a bunch of empty space. So far I am not too impressed with the mix of retail shops. They are all generic stores I have closer to home. I haven't seen anything that is going to be drawing me over. I'll have to see how things shake out when the development is finally completed to see if it's going to...

The only issue I have is how Dania pointe treat the residents on property. There is no guest parking even though they have so many spaces that are barley used. I can see this being a issue if a visitor isn’t allow to spend the night in fear of being towed after feeling unwell to drive and something bad happens. You can’t even walk you guest to their car without being told to leave the garage. I mean WTH. Oh yeah they only use POC to do the dirty work “field work”.

South garage is unsafe. Been unsafe for months. If you see orange cones blocking a number of parking spaces, it’s because the garage floor is not safe. When driving the cerement lifts exposing the lower level. The garage is always leaking however they are more focus on painting then insuring safety. Please don’t park in the garage. Do valet or park near TJ max, the theater or brandsmart. It’s another SurfSide issue...
