My first time dining at Gyroz yesterday was, by far, the best all-around and well-earned 5-star experience that I've had in quite some time!! Upon walking in, we were greeted immediately, asked if we had visited prior, and were offered up suggestions. The two of us dining together each chose the chicken gyro combo, & not only was it served up in a very timely manner, it was the freshest, juiciest, highest quality chicken wrapped in the most delicious pita with incredibly fresh tomatoes & some of the best homemade tzatziki I've had! (Note: I am very, very picky about my chicken, & this was truly legit) The fries were perfectly crispy, and the kind gifts that Nick and (we're guessing?) his brother offered up out of the most genuine spirit were all absolutely delightful! The falafels were cooked so beautifully both inside and out with the perfect crunch, and the baklava just made me happy:) The food alone is well worth the 5 stars (and many, many more), but it was the personal touch and the overall vibe in the building that truly rounded out this experience. Nick, who we presumed is part of the family he told us started these restaurants, took the time to walk over to our table across the dining room mid-meal and ask us how everything was. He also shared with us some of the Gyroz history and told us about the aunt who comes in daily to make fresh tzatziki and baklava (kudos to her!!). The other gentleman who we presumed to possibly be his brother also inquired about our experience prior to heading out with Nick and wishing us a good day. On our way out we dropped a few more dollars in the tip jar and I specifically took the time to give the cook a huge thumbs up. All last night we were both wishing we had left even more for them. I also feel guilty that it took me this long to try it after over 20 years in the area and passing it a ridiculous amount of times. Shame on me! I already want to return today for more - no kidding whatsoever. Many thanks to Nick & crew for making such a simple experience so overwhelmingly euphoric - no matter how corny...
Read moreDined in at Gyroz today and had a great experience, from the superb customer service, sparkling clean dining area, and fresh tasty food, everything was done exceptionally well. My experience started with Nick, very friendly and personable, who took my order and gave a brief overview of the menu choices along with a complimentary piece of baklava! As I stated above the dining area is neat, tabletops and floors clean, and plenty of trash receptacles. The area is air conditioned and there is a television to watch while eating your meal. I ordered the Greek salad with gyro meat and a side of fries. The salad was cool and crisp with various greens, peppers, tomato, cucumber, a well portioned amount of feta and two types of Greek olives, served with a vinegar oil herbed dressing and tzatziki sauce. The gyro meat was well cooked and seasoned nicely and it came with a generous portion and the pita was warm and moist, French fries hot and salted appropriately. I could hear a gentleman taking the drive through orders which he did in a courteous expeditious manner, continuing the overall restaurant theme of friendly customer service by all personnel, to include ownership. I can tell when a business is being run well from how all personnel perform in sync, keeping to the core ethos of the business. I witnessed this when Nick came out to the dining room to take an order to another table, he stopped asked if everything was fine with my food, saw an errant French fry I had dropped on the floor by my foot picked it up and kept moving without missing a beat. I will most assuredly return and highly recommend Gyroz to other...
Read moreEdit: David who works at Gyroz sent me a very rude private message on LinkedIn because I left a poor review. Changing my rating from 2 stars to 1 star. Once again David, fast food restaurants do not ask customers for tips. Go to McDonald’s, chick fil a, in-n-out, Taco Bell, or any other fast food restaurant in America and tell me if they request tips. Customers are not required to pay the salary of your employees. Maybe you need to increase your wages if that is an issue for your employees. If this is how you react to negative reviews, you have a tough future ahead. And remember, your restaurant is fast food, not fast casual.
I reported him on LinkedIn which blocks the individual and deletes the message. I’m sure LinkedIn has deleted his profile. His fake name was David Notip.
Original review: Food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either. Pita was too dry and cold, and the gyro meat was also room temperature. What really bothered me though was asking for a tip at a Drive Thru. I find that offensive and awkward at a fast food restaurant. At this rate, we’ll all be getting asked to tip when we go to the supermarket or when filling up gas at the gas station.
Won’t be returning based on the tip request. Owner will have to learn that returning customers are worth way more vs a one time customer. Say I would have returned 20 more times at an average meal expense of $15. That’s $300. You can have your tip instead for $2-3 bucks vs $300. Big loss of revenue over the long term. Here’s a tip, fast food restaurants don’t ask for tips. That’s one of the main points...
