Do you want to feel like a degenerate piece of sh*t that has to eat their food next to the trash cans? Then COME ON DOWN to SliceWorks! 🙃
Pro: Tasty pizza
Con: some of the most horrendous customer service I’ve ever encountered
Story: Friend and I came here after a show tonight to grab a slice quickly before we parted ways for the night. We ordered our food downstairs at the register with no problems, until we turned around and saw the tables downstairs were packed. We head upstairs to get a table there, but are then informed by a less-than pleasant frowning looking woman with low-rent YouTube tutorial eyebrows and a low pony that “You can’t eat upstairs if you ordered downstairs.” Ok, no problem, we head back downstairs to get our food — except there’s still NO DAMN PLACE TO SIT downstairs.
We did not see a sign on the railing that said “If you order downstairs you have to eat downstairs.” until well after the fact. Our cashier asked “For here or to go?” But neglected to say “If you want a place to sit, you should order upstairs.” Well then we thought “What if we head upstairs and get a table, since it’s literally empty up there (save for two tables of people) and we order some beer/more food?” So we head up and ask this, and the same dejected server tells us “no.” I explain again politely that we would order more food and not just drinks, still “No”. She refused us service. We were not drunk or loud. We tried to play by this lame rule. We wanted to spend more money here and the majority of the tables upstairs were empty.
This makes zero sense. The only thing I can surmise is she didn’t feel like doing her job or making more than $3.50 an hour tonight, because we would have gladly paid more money to sit the fu*k down. Instead my friend and I ate our food by the trash cans and boxes piled up safely next to the kitchen with employees coats on them, while this server gave us the worst looks running plates to and from upstairs.
I’ve lived in Denver 14 years and have popped by SliceWorks after many a show, I’ve never had this kind of experience here until tonight, but it was a huge turn off. Going to make sure to tell my friends, co-workers, and fam going to shows on Colfax to avoid it and hit up Cheeba Hut, Tom’s, Good Times... anything...
Read moreOne of your employees asked if I needed a Fck!! -Yup you read that right: Sunday, June 23 2019 @ 230am I will start by saying the pizza and food never disappoint. But my experience this last weekend (night of June 22-23) was completely disrespectful and uncalled for. My brother along with a few friends and I were out celebrating my birthday and we decided to stop by late Saturday night (technically it was Sunday around 2am) after the nightclubs let out for the evening. We walked in and ordered about $60 worth of pizza. The cashier was very nice and had a great attitude considering the rowdy crowd at that hour. We paid, got our delicious pizza, ate, and began to gather our things as we waited for our uber to arrive. On the way out, I decided to purchase the last $5 tiramisu in their cooler. As I waited in line to pay, my brother mentioned that our ride was almost there, but there were still about 3 people ahead of me. So, i pulled out $6 and asked the cashier if I could just hand him the $6 since our ride was there. He nodded and took the money. As I was walking off, I quickly realized that I didn't grab a fork. I turned around and asked the employee next to the cashier 'I need a fork, may I have one?' to which he loudly replied with a huge grin on his face, 'Oh, You Need A Fck!?'... I was completely shocked and embarrassed and didn't even know how to respond to his disrespectful and disgusting comment especially in front of all the other customers who clearly heard him and were just as surprised. This was unprofessional and uncalled for. I hope management will address this issue and teach employees about how to talk to their customers. Even if he had misheard me and thought that was what I was requesting, as an employee that's not how you clarify...
Read moreI really used to love this place, but it seems to have gone way downhill in the quality of service within the last few months. I've had issues where they mixed up my order, they weren't very friendly, and now they don't want to own up to their mistakes. I called about an hour ahead and placed a large order ($75+) and set it to pick up at 7 PM. I came in about 6:50 to find they just pulled my order out of the oven. I paid with almost exact change in cash and they helped me carry it out to the car (I'm blind and was walking with the aid of two canes (one support and a white cane). I got home about twenty minutes later, only to discover the individual slices of the specialty pizza I ordered were missing. I called them and they confirmed they were found sitting in/near the oven, and told me i could come back to get them, to which I explained I couldn't since I could not drive and my ride had left for the evening, and my parents can't drive since they are also disabled. They offered to refund me until I affirmed I paid in cash, to which they quickly went back on their word and retracted their offer. Basically, to make a long story short, I lost about $10 in food that I never got, and the restaurant admitted it but did not wish to reimburse me. I'm absolutely furious about this since their food is not cheap and I spend a lot of money there anyway, but since the pandemic has started I haven't gone downtown very often and don't have a reason to go back any time soon. Next time I'll be sure to pay with my card, so I can ensure that if this happens again I can just dispute it with my bank. (At least the food I did get was very good, so that is a pleasent...
