Bath & Body Works — Attraction in Honolulu

Since COVID, I haven’t been into the the store much, but when I did return, this store and staff were even more spectacular than before. The line on Black Friday was wrapped all the way to Macy’s. My bestie and I have never waited in a line that long in our lives, but the sale but 3, get 3 free only comes around once a year. If it wasn’t for the awesomeness and friendliness of the staff, we probably would not have waited. They greeted us and helped us find our way around and the manager was super efficient and very hands on with not only the staff, but the customers as well. She brought the girl that was helping the line outside all day, some water and just showed genuine love and compassion towards her staff as well as the customers. This was a very beautiful thing. I have been in customer service for over 20 years and lately I have not seen this type of management. My friend and I waited for almost an hour to get in, as we all abided by the social distancing law. When we got in, the store was in perfect order! It was truly an amazing shopping experience, a young lady helped me find all of my soap, and a young man named Josh helped me find candles and scents that would best fit my house. I cook a lot of vegetables, using garlic everyday and it can leave a pretty heavy stench throughout the whole house. Josh recommend the Eucalyptus mint candle to help neutralize and clear the air. And boy did the candle do exactly just that! I just wanted to take the time to thank the staff again for being so wonderful during these life changing and ultimately trying times. My 2 star review is mostly because of the employees. They were friendly and tried to help us however at the door I said I already knew what I wanted and that I could find it on my own, and once I entered the store I was approached over 10 times asking if I needed help. I already told the lady at the door that I didn’t need help yet I kept being asked if I needed help. It was seriously annoying and ruined my trip to the store to the point where I just wanted to leave. So I made my purchase and left. I probably would have bought more if they would have just left me to do my shopping in peace. I don’t know if it’s because they thought I was stealing or if it was because they just don’t communicate with each other but either way it was not okay. If a customer asks to be left to alone or that they don’t need help then don’t approach them unless they flag you down to ask a question or are looking seriously lost. The last straw for me was when I was looking at room sprays and a lady approached me and after I told her I didn’t need help she just stood there and pointed out a bunch of items she thought I’d like. I told her I didn’t need help again and finally she left me alone. It ruined my experience. I’ll be back because I love their products but if it happens again I’ll be...

The staff is EXTREMELY sales aggressive. They definitely need to take it down several notches. Even after you tell them you're fine and you're just browsing. "Well what are you browsing for? Let me help you!" I can walk around and see what interests me, thank you. "If you don't know what you're looking for I can help you find something!" Then when they are able to pounce on a new customer, another employee jumps at the chance to take over. "I noticed you glanced at that candle, can I tell you about our 5 new candle scents?" I actually don't use candles, thank you though. "Well you should get some! I have them in several rooms, what scents do you like?" A few different customers in the room made eye contact with me and gave me a "what the hell?" look after we saw someone that just walked in get pounced. I don't know if they have quotas, but it's such a used car salesman feel in this store. Way, way too aggressive for my taste compared to the Pearlridge and Ka Makana locations.
