Wow! What an amazing experience. We did the Open Water Diving Certification with Ricki. She specializes in small group certifications so when you purchase a training program the group will be limited to only those who you decide to include. It was a game changer for my boyfriend and I having our instructor’s undivided attention throughout the process. The course will take you through trouble shooting skills so that you are prepared for any surprises that may occur while you are exploring the ocean. I had a few moments of anxiety that may have inhibited my ability to complete the program, but Ricki was calm, knowledgeable and very encouraging. I now feel as confident as a fish and can’t wait to go back for more! You will feel safe throughout your learning and very accomplished once you finish. Be prepared! There are e-learnings that will take 12-15 hours that you must complete prior to your in person trainings. They are packed with great information that you will want to be familiar with so give yourself plenty of time to complete these and absorb the content before your first session. I also ended up needing a medical waiver prior to my first session, easily taken care of at a local urgent care (Niu Health) for a small fee. PADI will require this if you take any kind of medication outside of the basic few listed on the form you will sign. We are so glad we decided to go with Ricki as our instructor and are looking forward to another diving experience with her soon. If you are seeking a fun and safe diving experience, look no further!

LOOK. NO. FURTHER. 5 STARS FOR A REASON! This was my first time diving, and I did the Discovery Scuba Dive. Any nerves or questions I had were quickly eased thanks to our amazing guide, Rachel. Her experience, patience, and easygoing personality made me feel completely comfortable and safe, both on the boat and in the water. Because of her, I had an unforgettable and truly epic experience! We did the 11am start time and got to see turtles, puffer fish, starfish, an eel, and so many other beautiful marine creatures. Make sure to get there like 30-40mins early to find parking and use the restroom. You don’t need to bring much — just a small bag with your phone, GoPro, and some water. I didn’t even use a towel until I got back to my car. Also, definitely grab one of the Discover Scuba Hawaii hooded Dri-Fit shirts, perfect for after your dive! I’ll be recommending this to anyone and everyone who wants to try scuba diving, it’s 100% worth it!

No one in Hawaii and very few people on the planet have As much direct experience with disabled scuba divers as Ricki / And Discover Scuba Hawaii. Out of anyone on the planet, Ricki is my favorite dive buddy. I’m paralyzed from the arm pits down. Ricki, whenever diving with me or any disabled diver; ensures we are safe, comfortable, secure, and challenged to be as independent as we would like to be. Ricki, Rachael, and the others from Discover Scuba Hawaii may not be the least expensive people on the island. They may not be the closest to you. I can guarantee that they are the safest and the most selfless and patient heartfelt group that exists. To dive with them is a pleasure and a treat. I’ve included a throwback photo from 2018, April, because I have been scuba diving with Ricki that long! Check out the documentary “adapting to dive “by David Marsh on YouTube for free if you need more detail details!

My wife and I recently had our very first scuba diving experience with Rachel and Ricki at Discover Scuba Hawaii, and it was nothing short of incredible! As someone who has even jumped out of a plane without hesitation, I was surprised at how nervous I felt about scuba diving. But Rachel and Ricki completely put me at ease with their knowledge, thorough preparation, and calming presence.

They walked us through every step of the process, answered all of our questions, and made sure we felt confident before we even got in the water. Their expertise and professionalism were top-notch, and their genuine enthusiasm for what they do made the experience so enjoyable.

Our group included my teenage nephew and his dad, and Rachel and Ricki made sure everyone had a safe, beautiful, and relaxing time. The underwater world they introduced us to was breathtaking, and it’s an experience I’ll never forget.

If you’re considering scuba diving, whether it’s your first time or your hundredth, I can’t recommend Discover Scuba Hawaii enough. It’s clear they truly care about their clients and their safety, and they make the whole experience unforgettable.

10/10—thank you, Rachel and Ricki, for an...

After 36 Years since we were first certified, and last did any scuba diving, we were a little anxious about diving again in our seventh decade. However, Ricky Sanchez is such a phenomenal instructor that our anxieties were quickly put to rest. Ricki provided us with quality equipment, outstanding instruction, thorough safety briefing, And in insiders knowledge of our diving terrain. We were thrilled with the whole experience and look forward to returning to Hawaii to dive with Ricki again. We were on the diving boat, Cordelia, that is very well equipped and staffed by a skilled crew. We also learned that Ricki helps people with disabilities Learn how to scuba dive. From my experience as an occupational therapist and professor, I was very impressed with Ricki‘s knowledge. Of the techniques and adaptations needed to help People with a wide range Of physical disabilities, manage the Challenging tasks Required in getting on and off the boat and in and out of the water as well as the...
