One of the nicest supermarkets I have been to - expensive yes - but spacious, clean, signposted and oh my god, so meticulously organized I could not believe my eyes! Every product has its own place on a shelf and I felt like I am in OCD's paradise!Ā ! I know this is not the reason to shop here, and indeed itās not, but apart from standard, yet amazing, fresh food such as baked goods, vegetables, fruits and meats &fish I appreciate this place offers a lot of variety of products that I do not normally see elsewhere. Like there was a full isle of different teas - black, green, fruit, flavored - so many to chooseĀ from. The same of course goes with other things such as ice cream - I havenāt seen in any other supermarket such a variety of different brands and flavors. The regional sections are worth checking too - several products fromĀ every major cuisine such as Asian, Arabic, Indian or Italian - plenty to choose from. Additionally I found some more sections dedicated to British or Japanese food and treats. It is truly an experience to shop here, but all this comes at a price, a relatively high price. This place is not for daily shopping or stocking up, but rather for treating yourself to something previouslyĀ unknownĀ to you,Ā otherwiseĀ it would ruin your bank account. It was very empty when I visited, so the shopping was quite pleasant.
PS: They do cakes...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEnjoyed shopping here. A bit on the expensive side. But sometimes worth it. Ten years ago my husband had surgery and after he arrived home after the surgery they gave him some papers that said he had to eat only liquid foods diet so I went down to Morton Williams to get him the required stuff and considering the fact that he had just had surgery I took the kids with me because itās inconsiderate to leave them with him. And it was 10 pm sharp and the lady at the cashier back then thought it was appropriate to say it was late for the kids to be out. She made me feel horrible. I should have stood up to her and said their dad had surgery but at the cashier I didnāt have time to explain my life story to her. I just left feeling sad as I had already been overwhelmed with my husbandās surgery and her thinking sheās smarter than me without knowing my circumstances. Till this day I remember her inappropriate judgement as I lived there three full years and never took my kids out at night it was only on that day that I took them for the special circumstances and their dad having surgery that day. It was very inappropriate for her to judge me. I give Morton Williams 5 stars. But that specific cashier lady deserves zero stars for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time ever been to a Morton Williams. Seems well managed, clean, relatively well organized. Surprisingly it was hard to find energy bars, asked a cashier, who didn't look too happy and impatiently pointed to "the cooler." Huh? The cooler? For energy bars?
I asked, "the cooler?" She confirmed yes. Since, as I said above, she didn't seem in a good mood so I didn't bother asking again. To no one's surprise, there were no energy bars in the cooler š¤£
Another guy I was going to ask right before her also very quickly said coldly said "I'm not open" as I was approaching and as he was closing the check out lane. I was slightly taken aback because I hadn't uttered a single word, but I suppose it was fair for him to say that because I already had some items in my basket.
Anyway, this was 9:10pm on a Saturday so obviously these folks were just itching to get the hell out of there, as anyone I would 𤣠Even though I understood it, it still did lead to mildly unsatisfying shopping experience, even though later, after I had given up looking for energy bars, I finally found them right at the beginning of the check out line I was using. And yes, it was the line with the young woman telling me they were in...
