So I've been a long time supporter of this acai spot – used to order from Frutta Bowls often, and when they rebranded too I'd visit fairly often in mornings. But this is so outrageous! Since rebranding their portion sizes have gotten smaller, to the point where I visited last week and this is what they gave me (see picture). Two mini bowls with around an inch of acai in each, for a total of 25$. That is so absurd and honestly their service isn't generally the greatest. I will say that most visits the mini bowl is packed pretty full. It's made differently by different people which I've always been confused by (sometimes people forget toppings pretty often, sometimes the toppings are on the bottom instead of the top, just very inconsistent) and on the days that the bowl is well made I am a happy camper, even if it's a bit pricy. But giving me this is really awful, and if it was due to something like running low on acai (giving them the benefit of the doubt) they should have just told me they only had enough materials to make 1 bowl. Otherwise if they're just skimping, well, that's awful.

This location in Newport was formerly a Frutta Bowl franchise, I would get a bowl there once a month or so because it's so close to home. Since changing franchise brand to "The North Bowl" the sizes were cut in half and the prices increased by 50 cents. The prices were a bit high before and now they are just ridiculous. I won't be back. I'll walk over to one of the 4 options in Hoboken next time I'm craving and Acai bowl. Without tip, the two bowls in the below image were $28. I tried to tip, but their payment system was hbbing issues. Three attempts were rejected due to "Service charge rejection". Two were apple pay (one Amex, one Mastercard), then I tried paying with a different physical Amex, it was rejected for the same reason. The girl wanted to write down my credit card number and leave it with her. I refused that option. I then tried a Visa debit card and it worked, there was no option to add tip.

Really decent smoothie bowl shop! I was surprised to see a smooth bowl location that could customize so easily. A lot of the places I have visited before do not allow much customization because of pre-made bowls and they never customize without charging extra. I really enjoyed that about this place! The staff here were really kind and the owner was really sweet! It was a nice quaint location with a cool ambience. It had a lot of fresh colors and accents and it gave a nice vibe. The location was perfect next to the Newport station and its close to the Hudson which Made eating with a view great! I would highly recommend the acai base. I was the biggest fan of the blue narwhal but I understand how it could be a fan favorite for those who love coconut! Overall, I'd go again and really recommend it!

The star of the show at The North Bowl is undeniably the acai bowls. The bowls were a visual delight, resembling vibrant canvases adorned with a medley of fruits, nuts, and granola. Each bite was a burst of freshness, as the velvety acai base harmonized with the crisp textures of the toppings. The balance of sweet and tart flavors showcased the careful selection and quality of the ingredients.

One standout among the House Specials was the "Blue Narwhal," featuring a blue coconut base with strawberries and blueberry. The tropical symphony of flavors transported me to a beachside paradise, making it a refreshing choice that left me yearning for more. The customizable options allowed for a personalized experience, ensuring that every bowl catered to individual preferences.

The smoothies at The North bowl were equally impressive, offering a refreshing alternative for those on the go. The "Leify Greens" smoothie, with kale, pineapple, and a touch of avocado, was a revitalizing potion that energized both my body and taste buds. The use of fresh, high-quality ingredients was evident, making each sip a nutritious and enjoyable experience.

The North Bowls commitment to health and sustainability was evident in their sourcing practices. Locally sourced fruits and eco-friendly packaging demonstrated a dedication to both community and the environment, adding an extra layer of satisfaction to the dining experience.

In conclusion, The North Bowl is a shining star in the realm of acai bowls and smoothies. The thoughtfully crafted menu, vibrant ambiance, and commitment to quality make it a standout choice for those seeking a wholesome and flavorful culinary adventure. Whether you're a health-conscious individual or simply someone in search of a delicious treat, The North Bowl is sure to leave you with a taste of pure bliss, making it a go-to spot for acai enthusiasts and smoothie...

I was really excited to have an acai bowl place closer to me. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed by the quality, portion size, and cost of the food. Maybe other items on the menu are good, so if y'all find your go to, no judgement.

You can see from my photo of the "hot honey avocado toast" that it has a very thin layer of avocado on a similarly thin piece of bread. I would bet a ton that it's the bread alone peasant bread with a pre packaged avocado spread from the grocery store. The feta was also kind of dry and unappealing. This was $6. I hate being a stereotype and paying for $10 avocado toast, but I would if it meant that I got real freshly prepared avocado.

As for the acai bowl, this is a ridiculously small size for $16. Generally for that much, I expect a few layers of acai in a bigger bowl. The acai doesn't look vibrant and fresh. Its watery and barely has any flavor.

I was expecting this to be a great, satisfying lunch. But now I need to find something else to eat alongside. Which completely defeats the purpose of buying takeout. The only good thing I can say is that...
