We had a delightful experience visiting Sellers Books in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. This small, independent bookstore has been serving book lovers since 2008 and is now located at 65 Broadway in the heart of the historic downtown area. It offers a wonderfully curated selection of unique fiction and nonfiction titles for all ages and interests. From the latest bestsellers and timeless classics to gift books and unusual finds, there is something for everyone here.
The charm of Sellers Books lies not just in its broad and eclectic collection but also in the warm, knowledgeable service provided by the proprietor, Randall Sellers. His experience and passion for books shine through, making each visit a memorable one. Whether you’re into literary fiction, mystery, science fiction, romance, or even graphic novels and cookbooks, you’ll find a treasure trove of options to explore.
Small, independent bookstores like Sellers Books have long been the lifeblood of American culture, offering a unique and personalized shopping experience that big chains simply can’t match. Hats off to the proprietors who continue to run these small bookstores with dedication and love. It’s always a joy to browse their carefully curated collections and discover something new and interesting, as we did this weekend.

Read moreWe had a little time to kill before our train ride, so we wandered into Seller’s Books on a whim. It’s a small, unassuming shop on Broadway, the kind of place you might miss if you’re in a rush—but you shouldn’t.
Right away, it felt easy. No pressure, no clutter, no gimmicks. Just shelves lined with books that actually feel like someone cared when they chose them. Not just the usual suspects—there’s some personality in this place. Thoughtful picks. A quiet confidence.
I found something for myself without even trying, and the kids did too, which is saying a lot. They were excited. I was surprised. It felt good.
I don’t think the person working was the owner, but they were kind and left us to explore, which is exactly what I wanted. The whole space has this grounded, peaceful energy—clean, calm, and inviting.
Seller’s Books doesn’t feel like a business trying to sell you anything. It feels like a place that gets readers. We’ll definitely be back. Not because we were killing time—but because next time, we’ll make...
Read moreThe store is very nice with a wonderful selection of books. The staff that was there was very informative and helpful in trying to find books that one was looking for. The books are rather all around everywhere which is no issue to someone willing to look for even more great finds in boxes of books and all around for a great treasure hunt. However, the biggest issue found while on my trip was the book pricing. The shop marks the prices of the books on the inside first two or three pages. I had done the math in my head and even confirmed it on the way out that once at the register the book prices seemed to go up. The penciled in prices was not the price I was charged when I got to the register. Though it seemed to be only a rather 5 dollar increase on the whole purchase it was rather rude and a taken advantage of situation. Probably won’t return for a while and if one does return I will be sure to check very carefully the...
