EDIT. See pictures of todays coffee. What I didn't include previously in the review was I heard them say something about me like the coffee is for that girl over there. But didn't think anything of it. I took one drink of my coffee knew something was wrong. So I let it settle and I have attached pictures of the bottom of the coffee. This is unacceptable and ridiculous. Your employees are acting like children messing with someone's coffee because someone mentioned their frustration after waiting 30 minutes for her coffee. I still thanked them and was still very polite. This is insane.
I went for my birthday coupon and placed a mobile order. I waited and waited have to pick up window. They were busy so I waited. Over 10 minutes after my pickup time, 30 minutes after I placed the order.. I asked and they said oh yeah Is that for the mobile order? We will get that started for you. I said ok and I'm sure I was noticeably confused. Apparently you have to check in for mobile orders now? What's the point of a mobile pickup order if I still have to check in before you make it... I've placed mobile orders here in the past, it was about a year ago but this was not what happened then. You need to have a sign or something that says a check in for mobile orders so they get made. Then when the customer has told you they've waited 30 minutes for a coffee because no one told them to check in for a pickup order maybe hey sorry about that, or something. No he just looked at me and said okay. I loved their coffee and their bakery but the incredibly bougie can't be bothered to take criticism is not welcoming or kind. This feels like a rude New York coffee shop not some place the heart of downtown Kansas City. There are many very welcoming coffee shops within walking distance of this one that I'll be going to instead That are much more welcoming and kind. They've always had this attitude here but after today it really shows they could care less they are...
Read moreI've been wanting to go to Messenger coffee House ever since I heard about it from a friend. I'd also been missing my favorite bakery, Ibis bakery on the hill, so I was very excited to see that it had moved in with Messenger. Ibis bakery made some of the best cinnamon rolls, almond croissants and something called a kreug amman which is one of the bestest, flakiest, butterest piece of goodness this bakery nut has ever eaten. I must make some plain kind of fruit in them and I prefer this fruit filling. When you walk into Messenger, it's a little overwhelming. There are three floors of people and you order when you walk in the door. There are probably a dozen people waiting to have their order filled like it was on the busy Saturday that we stopped in. I love most bakery items, however the only real chocolate item that they had was a chocolate chip cookie. I was kind of surprised that they didn't have a chocolate muffin or something a little more cocoa heavy for the chocolate lovers out there. They did have a chocolate brownie which was stuffed with walnuts. (Some of the chocolate lovers like my bf love chocolate just not nuts.) I found that the bakery items I chose didn't taste as fresh as I was used to coming from the previous small venue Ibis bakery. I'm guessing they were made the day before and not that actual morning. And although they said they were out of plain croissants when we ordered one, there were what appeared to be racks of croissants in the back. I'm guessing those were reserved for sandwiches. Overall a positive experience at Messenger, but if you're looking for quiet and quaint,...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting a cafe called "Messenger Coffee." From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm and welcoming smiles from the staff. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with plenty of natural light streaming in through the large windows.
I was impressed by the extensive menu of specialty coffees and teas, as well as the delicious-looking pastries and sandwiches on display. I ended up ordering a mocha and a gluten free pastry, and I have to say, both were absolutely divine. The mocha was made with expert precision and had the perfect balance of espresso and steamed oat milk. The gluten free pastry was very good and not overly sweet.
What really made the experience stand out, however, was the attentive and friendly service from the staff. They made sure to check in on me regularly to see if I needed anything, and they even offered suggestions on other menu items I might enjoy. They were very friendly and made me feel at home. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Messenger Coffee. The food and drinks were top-notch, and the service was unparalleled. I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a cozy and inviting spot to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee or tea. I definitely recommend eating out on the patio, on the third floor if the weather is nice.
It's a great spot to have a meeting, spend time with friends and family, or even to just sit and read a book by yourself. They have a comfortable seating area and perfect lighting to accommodate the need. It's a cafe that would never disappoint and I'll...
