I used to absolutely LOVE this thrift store. Not so much anymore. It seems as if a recent management change has increased prices greatly. I used to be able to find a good deal and didn't mind digging through junk to find a treasure because the pricing was reasonable. Sifting through junk to pay too dollar is another thing entirely. No more clothes? Now getting rid of shoes as well? I recently purchased a taped up set of placemats which said set of 6- great condition. 4 were awful. Only 2 usable. No thrifts store deal at all. Whoever has taken over pricing needs to remember they are selling 'used donations.' Everything is suddenly overpriced.. This seems to happen each time a female manager is hired here.(Seems to be very seasonal, they bring in a new manager every summer?) The prices have gone dramatically up....and suddenly. **Also, in the past I always had such a friendly experience. Now, a lady has endless attitude and scowls to offer....not a nice experience any longer. I won't make this my go to store anymore. A lot of my local friends have experienced the same. Good place, gone bad. I don't write a lot of reviews but, thought I should. Don't waste your time, skip it. Plenty of good thrift stores...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this delightful thrift store after calling and arranging a pickup of furniture with Amy. She was a joy to work with and went out of her way to accommodate our schedule. We also loved the fact that we were donating to a good cause. The young men who picked up the furniture were extremely polite and careful when removing the items from our home. We later went to visit the store and just appreciated how clean and well laid out everything was. Most of the furniture we had donated had been sold and we could see why. The prices were beyond fair and not the usual ridiculous pricing we see at many thrift shops. We were glad to finally meet Amy in person and also Robert, a student in the program who was super helpful and informative We even purchased a few treasures for our new beach home. I cannot think why anyone would not want to make this their dedicated donation spot, full of friendly and accommodating people and a top notch...
Read moreI'll give this establishment 5 stars because of the organizations overall mission, the consistently low prices of the items, and it was our family's favorite thrift stores to frequent on the island not too long ago.
I do want to add input though that I am not in favor of the recent direction the store has taken concerning its drop off system. I understand some locals were likely abusing your store and donating junk and worthless items afterhours. But by having such an open system the store got an abundance of donations. Now there are cones blocking off access for people to make after hour donations. As a result the store is depleted of inventory and there is slim pickings compared to the amount of items the store cycled through not too long ago.
I'll still visit the store, but where it was worth checking out on a near weekly basis in the past, I find myself recently only stopping by once every 2...
