Amelia C & Co — Local services in Las Vegas

I booked Amelia C & Co. well in advance of my wedding in Las Vegas. I sent Rob my hair and makeup inspo pics approximately a month before the wedding and he advised he would make sure the team had them. Aimee, my makeup artist, and I exchanged text messages the night before the wedding. I gave her the hotel information and then she asked me what I had in mind for my hair and makeup. I was a bit surprised because I had sent that over a month previous to Rob who said he would make sure the team had it. Nevertheless, I texted her my inspo pics. Aimee and Karen showed up at 12:30 p.m. my appointment time, set up and got to work. I told Karen that my hair did not hold a curl well to which she replied, “challenge accepted”. Both ladies were done in an hour. While my makeup was nice it was not exactly what I had envisioned and was quite minimalistic. I had wanted a really glam look. She did not line my lips and my lipstick kind of smudged over my lip line even before the ceremony. Also, there was not enough glue on my false lashes or none in the corner because they lifted in the corners before the ceremony. Regarding my hair, she really did not even come close to the inspo photos I had sent. While I was aware that because my hair was fine, it would be difficult to achieve exactly what was in the photos, there was literally no volume at all, and my hair was pretty flat. I would have thought a bunch of backcombing would have given me more volume in the front and sides but none of that was done. She put my headpiece on while I had my eyes closed waiting for the glue on my false lashes to dry and was totally not where I had wanted it placed. She had moved it slightly after I asked but still was not where I had wanted it. I wish she had consulted me prior to placing it. I was worried about moving it too much after it was placed because I didn’t want my hair to get even flatter. All in all, my hair and makeup were done just okay and I don’t think it...

I booked Amelia C & Co for my wedding and I also had 7 other ladies receive hair and makeup styling. I have never felt more beautiful and my hair/makeup was beyond expectations. Not that I expected anything "bad," but I just never get my hair/makeup professionally done, so I really didn't know what to expect. Steffanie did my makeup and she was so fantastic and professional, we had some great conversation and she walked me through the entire process (at my request because I would love to learn to do my own makeup, even if it came out half as good). Some ladies in my group even added on services in the moment after seeing how great other's looked. The team was so accommodating.

My reason for 4 stars is because the communication up to 5 days before my wedding day was extremely poor. I was regularly following up with "the chief dude," because I wasn't getting responses in a timely manner. I asked to speak to hair/makeup stylists before booking so I could share inspiration pictures and make sure what I was looking for was in their realm of work, and I was told that someone would reach out upon booking. That made me feel a bit uneasy, as usually booking decisions are made after discussing the services but I went with it. I signed a contract with the pricing laid out for everyone's services. Then I get an email from "chief dude," that it will be an extra $90 because he didn't add up all the services properly, which to me, is just unprofessional. A couple months went by before I had to follow up again to find out when someone would be contacting me, it was one week before the big day and I still had no idea who I'd be working with. Immediately after, Steffanie reached out as my makeup artist and from there everything was perfect.

I would recommend to Amelia C & Co to anyone and everyone, with the caveat that communication is not their strong suit. Once you get through the booking process, the rest of the team is...

I booked Amelia C & Co for my wedding make-up and hair. They are so easy to book with and respond very quickly. Rob was really friendly, upbeat and professional in his replies to my questions. Bianca was my stylist and she is AMAZING - a styling ANGEL!! I highly recommend doing the preview session so you can practice the look you are going for with your stylist before the big day. (Plus you can wear your look out to dinner the night before your wedding and feel like a Queen!) I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted to do and showed Bianca a few pics of styles that I liked. She completely understood what I was going for ("elegant bohemian") and showed me some different ways we could do my hair with the various hairpieces that I brought with me. Everything she came up with was absolutely gorgeous - it was so hard to decide! We finally landed on a gorgeous style that was really comfortable to wear the whole night and lasted through all the crazy dancing! She also showed my Matron of Honor how to take the veil out of my hair so that my hair was still perfect! When it came to make-up, I was really nervous about the fake lashes b.c I had a bad experience in the past with the strip lashes (she did NOT use that kind). She let me practice wearing a few of the individual lashes that she glues on one-by-one and I couldn't even tell they were there! They made such a difference in the photos. The make-up she did for me was incredibly gorgeous and lasted the entire night (even through lots of sweaty dancing). I received so many compliments from family and friends. People from another wedding even came over to tell me how pretty I looked and that was all due to Bianca's incredible talent! She is also really sweet, kind and funny, and it just felt like I was having my hair and make-up done by one of my close girlfriends, which is exactly how you want to feel before your big day.
