I can see why Atomic Golf is having trouble. My husband & I went in on 12/30 to use an hour of play voucher at 8:10 PM because online it said that they closed at 10 PM. We called earlier in the day (to no answer) because we tried to reserve a slot online but couldn't input our free voucher as reservations require payment. We had no option but to go in person to try to redeem it.
We got there only to be told there was both a waiting list for a bay & they were closing at 9 for their own holiday party. They could have updated this information online before we drove down there. I didn't notice it full for there to be a wait list.
We came back on 12/31at 8 PM. The place was a ghost town with only floors 3 & 4 open. Why not run specials like $25/hour to welcome in 2025? It's better than having an empty venue because they're sticking to the $60+/hr price.
The venue is indistinguishable from Top Golf aside from the branding.
They have a food menu & a Taco Tuesday special; 2 tacos for $5 & $5 shots. My husband got the tacos & said they were great.
As for me, get ready for my usual celiac rant.
They have a menu that has giant, bold "GF" next to menu items including fried foods. I asked the waiter if the foods were fried in a separate fryer to prevent cross contamination or if this was a false gluten-free claim. He said they had two fryers but he'd check with the chef.
Came back. Everything is cooked in a shared fryer.
I asked if anything labeled "GF" could be made actually gluten-free & he went to ask & came back & said that the salads including the poke (raw tuna) could be made gluten-free.
I said, "I see it has shoyu, is the shoyu really gluten-free?" The waiter assured me it was.
My food came out with no shoyu on it.
I'm tired of having to play 20 questions with restaurants with labeled menus. Restaurants don't have to have anything gluten-free but I'm sick of them marketing their food as if they do have options.
Foods labeled "GF" are falsely marketing themselves as gluten-free while trying to legally avoid getting in trouble by denoting that GF on their menu ACKSHULLY means gluten "friendly." This is a dangerous & lazy way to try to trick consumers into believing that the food is safe.
"Gluten-friendly" is a nonsense term in the same way calling a vegan dish "meat friendly" would be nonsensical. As a Celiac, I am not friendly to gluten yet it's clear that restaurants use this nonsensical term because they can abbreviate it to "GF," allowing them to confuse customers who mistake it for "gluten-free." They are deliberately trying to obfuscate the safety of their food by marking it "GF."
The FDA specifically created the label "gluten-free" for celiac patients alone to be able to safely find foods that they can eat.
It wasn't created for people who feel they can handle some cross-contamination. Not for people who get a little bloated & think it's probably gluten causing it. Not for people with orthorexia. Not for people avoiding wheat. It was created for people with celiac disease.
Not only is this "GF" labeling shady from a business standpoint, but it is dangerous from a safety standpoint.
Not everyone speaks English so symbols denoting "gluten-friendly" can cause serious bodily harm to people relying on markers or abbreviations like "GF" to pick a safe meal from a menu that they otherwise can't understand.
1 in 5 adults in the US are illiterate. Like non-English speakers, abbreviations & symbols that try to market their food to people who need to be gluten-free while having footnotes somewhere on the menu stating that their symbols actually mean "gluten-friendly" put people's health in jeopardy.
People who aren't celiac see the "GF" on the menu, order it for us thinking that they're doing something sweet for us by choosing the gluten-free item, & then get offended when we can't actually eat it.
If restaurants don't have any cross contamination protocols in place to make sure their gluten-free items are actually suitable for celiacs then they shouldn't have "GF" listed next to the dish...
Read moreGreat Day with a caveat or two!
It was so much fun. The games are innovative and keep the play going. It was amazing to watch the technology track the balls through the sky and onto the field. There were many different types of games to play and that kept it interesting. I hadn't swung a club in a long time and by the end of the play... I was smacking the ball out to the farthest point.
Atomic Golf is huge... bigger than I expected, but the expanse made the place feel empty. Many bars and seating areas were open but not a single person in them. After our round of play... we wanted to continue to watch the remainder of the game and have a few more beers. We sat at the inside bar and despite the fact that we were the only two people in there, not once did a bar tender (there were two behind the bar playing on their phones or busing themselves with bar tasks) ever greet or acknowledge us, let alone ask if we would care for a drink. Disappointing and shows a lack of management and discipline.
I went on a Sunday afternoon to watch the football game and hit some balls. I took advantage of the "All you can eat and drink" special opting in for the upgraded Silver package ($10 more than the base package with better food options but less alcohol options). I felt it was a good deal, but did feel a bit rushed with the 2 hour time limit in the golf bay given that the place was not crowded at all. The moment the host started the timer I felt a rush to order - however our server was slow in getting to us and some 15 minutes went by before we were served our first beer. After that the beer and food was quick to arrive, but it wasn't the best way to start.
Management needs to do a better job in promoting this place with more local offerings. I agree that the $59 All You Can Eat and Drink packages are great, (with upgraded package available) but to entice locals and therefore a better, more energetic environment, a lower priced or 2 for 1 type of offer is needed. As a local, I would love to spend more "fun dates" at Atomic Golf but $145 for two hours (for 2 people) won't allow a more frequent visit.
Communication was great from the host (Carlos) although I only saw him at the beginning of the session and not again after. It seems to me that a "pop in" to check up on guests would be a nice gesture, and given how empty the place was, it doesn't seem to be an unrealistic request.
Irene our server was very good, after the initial wait, and kept the beers and food coming. Service is very quick once an order has been placed.
Overall an enjoyable couple of hours but not one that I would repeat frequently given the cost and general "blah" atmosphere caused by the...
Read moreI was riding by on my little scooter, so I thought i would stop and check it out. It was 8/14/25 @8:30 pm. 107° outside I did not pay anything. I just walked thru the place. Which anyone can do. You can pop in for a drink or 2. You don't have any entry fee. I asked a bartender the cost of a screwdriver cocktail , $10.31 + tax, tip. 1 Bay for up to 8 people was $60 for 1 hour. They have a few deals like unlimited time, for i believe, $75. But everything you buy food and drink wise is basically $20. So this place could be a bit pricey. People who were there were having fun. Everybody was smiling. They have these big swamp cooler fans blowing everywhere. They were on wheels so you could turn them how you wanted. It was pretty warm, but those fans definitely helped. Also, they have misters in the isles and where the golfers swing. The place is quite large. 4 stories tall. The 2nd level was closed. No employees or customers were on that level. There are about 20 bays on every level. The 4th level was the busiest, with only a couple of bays still available. The computer told you what to aim for, for points. It looked like you have choices on what kind of game you want. Or. Just hit some balls. They have a cabinet next to the tee. A little door pops open, and your next ball rolls out. Looks like unlimited balls. I gotta imagine after about an hour of that you're going to be tired. The 4th floor had a lounge with some really cool lighting features. You can walk outside onto a deck for a really good view of that section of Las Vegas Blvd . It was the only place I saw with typical a/c. It felt nice in there. There was only 1 couple in there when I was there. The crowds can be deceiving. People were there enjoying themselves. But the place is so big. That it looked empty. It would be a great place for a date nite. You and another couple type deal. Or parents with a couple of kids. A business team building outing. I could see that. But like a kids birthday? It's gotta be more pricey for what it is. In my ignorant opinion. The place was very clean. The staff i talked with were friendly. Their location kinda works in their favor. It's a heck of a lot easier to access that top golf. Not much traffic. You could catch the bus that runs down the strip. Looked like they pretty much had...
