Update 4/19/2024: Have now been here 8 mos. Location is great, amenities are top notch and I’m generally comfortable living here but I have never experienced so many issues at a large luxury apt building. I was comparing notes with my friends at the Aster across the street and they have not had anywhere near the issues we have here. The fire alarm has gone off at least 5x since I’ve lived here (all false alarms, one at 130am). Maybe install cameras to deter people from pulling it? It’s incredibly loud and goes on and on inside the apt. There are constant WIFI being down or connection being slow/interrupted issues. Ongoing fixture problems: broken A/C when I moved in, leaking bathroom ceiling, leaking shower pipe, etc. The dog park smells horrible. The gym while nice always has dirty floors (tons of hairs everywhere). In short, for the rent we pay and all the fees we pay, I expected a better living experience and not having to deal with ongoing issues—never have in any of the other large buildings I’ve lived in (Greystar, 8th & Hope, AMLI). ******** Update 10/1/2023: I’ve been here almost two months and in that time, Joey B. (Asst Manager) has proven to be consummate professional. He reached out directly and wanted to understand the issues I’d experienced. He and his team have implemented changes which have shown improvements across almost all ares and he has maintained open communication throughout. I appreciate more than anything Joey’s empathy, his friendly demeanor and his openness to hearing resident’s concerns without taking it personally and rather thinking about how things can be adjusted in the spirit of continuous improvement to create a better resident experience. 😊 *********

7/2024 Updated Review-have been living here since 2/2022 Let's start on a positive note: PROs: -Amenities are awesome! 10/10 for all of them -Jazmine's the best leasing consultant -Maintenance crew is great! -Housekeeping staff 100/10 -Pretty place to live! CONS: -Internet is the worst ever! They provide you 2 options for internet, I chose the cheapest at $65 and believe the higher one is between $80-90. Absolute trash! Esp if you're WFH -Staff is overworked and underpaid so don't expect an email back replying to anything within 3-5 business days, just go straight to leasing -Parking: garage door is broken once every 6 months, not really addressed in community bulletin, ceilings are cracked if you look closer, some are patched up, rat traps in many places -Dog excrements: this place has a handful of individuals who don't clean up after their dogs so sometimes you'll see surprises in the elevator or common areas, we do have a dog park but why use that when you can use the blocked off tree area at the entrance of the building or the metal poles -On top of rent and parking, electricity is completed with SCE, $12 monthly mandatory fee for renters insurance, call box (Mosino) fee, utilities include hvac/lest/sewage all that good stuff which used to be 40ish for us but now has almost doubled The construction of this building was rushed and doubt it'll last long before it falls apart. This place is not really built with great business standards either, great try for DTLB. I did extend my lease because new management came in and thought it would be better which is was for a bit but then they left for a better opportunity at a new building so boo hoo.

It’s extremely disappointing to leave a one star review because I want to believe that this building is more exceptional than it is, especially given how much people are paying to rent here. The WiFi in this building is constantly down. The entire month of April, the internet has practically been down. At all hours of the day. In a time where everything technology wise is run off WiFi, this is extremely inconvenient. We have no ability to use our phones, our TVs, our computers, nothing. I’ve called customer service with SafetyNet and they also have no answers besides “don’t worry we set up a Temp Server for the building” that also BARELY WORKS! Working from home? Forget about it. I recently had a baby and take advantage of working a day ahead on projects/task when she’s asleep and it has been impossible to get any work done because we have no internet. This is extremely frustrating and inconvenient but they expect you to pay $95 additional monthly for their internet service that doesn’t work. Such a waste of money.

UPDATE: I have lived at Onni for 3 months…i love it here! My apartment is beautiful!!! I get compliments anytime somebody comes over or sees it on a call while I am working remotely from home. I’m always surprised that when I am inside my apartment that I don’t hear my neighbors, the apartment is quiet even when downtown LB gets active, my apartment shuts out the noise! Of course it is not totally silent and I can hear the occasional loud conversation or random shouting, I do live in a city so I think this is to be expected. The apartment is a lovely shelter from the loudness outside.

One of the best things about living here is the Onni team- the agents, maintenance crew, and property caretakers are great!!! Every morning when I walk our dog I see Benny taking care of our outdoor spaces and cleaning up the streets that surround our building. Benny is kind, friendly, and generous always offering a warm greeting as he cares for our shared spaces. I also get to see Angie, one of our property caretakers. She’s always hard at work, always friendly, and every morning she makes the lobby and entrance areas feel welcoming and beautiful. I also have to give another shout out to the maintenance crew…they are swift, responsive, and incredibly good at their jobs. I also really appreciate Micheal in the leasing office, he smiles and greets residents with such warmth and he is quick to respond to needs or questions. I also appreciate Jessie who helped me yesterday resolve a parking space issue in less than 5 minutes!

The community for the most part is really wonderful! I have enjoyed so many of my interactions with fellow residents. I will say that there are of course a few folks who seem to act entitled, individuals who are just angry humans who want to act out like toddlers, and one of the leasing agents in the office gets very spicy if you ask for help when they would rather go home. But these are minor things and all apart of living in a shared community space with large number of residents. I really like it here and I truly love coming home to my beautiful apartment, sitting in the jacuzzi and then stepping into my luxurious shower to wash away the woes of the day. It’s a whole vibe and I kinda love it!!!

Previous Review: I just moved in...it's been a little over a week...and so far, I love my new apartment!!! The leasing agents, staff, and the maintenance folx are fantastic! Jazmin was amazing!!! I originally applied for a unit i thought I'd like, but when I toured the property Jazmin showed me a unit that she thought I'd like even better...she was right! I love my apartment so much!!! She was really helpful, friendly, responsive, and very welcoming. She answered all my questions and has continued to be really helpful as I get settled into our new space.

I have also found Michael in the Leasing Office to also be very helpful and happy to offer assistance whenever he's in the office. He has jumped in the answer questions, help me with my keys, and has gone out of his way to make sure that we have everything we need to feel happy in our new apartment-home.

I also have to say that I am impressed with the maintenance crew and property caretakers!!! They are hard working, quick, friendly and they do great work. I see them caring for our shared spaces and our individual needs in ways that have made me feel like they take pride in the quality of their work and personally care about being really good at their jobs.

I have enjoyed my encounters with other residents and find my exchanges with little kiddos and silly sweet doggies. For sure, if you live here, you will want to be a dog lover, its a welcoming space for furry family members, I think more dogs live here than people! I don't mind, I love dogs, so it makes me happy to see them living their best lives.

I hope what I've experienced in this first week continues...I've promised myself that I'm actually going to stop working and slow down long enough to use the beautiful amenities. So far, it has been a great experience and i'm kinda in love with my...

I moved in about 2 months ago but I wanted to wait a bit to write my review. First I love my apartment , the amenities and the surrounding area.

First the apartment is great and I love the balcony. The appliances work and are very modern. Noise level isn’t bad, I don’t hear my neighbors through the walls , only when my balcony door is opened can I hear maybe some people by the pool or regular street noises and such. I have zero complaints about the apartment itself, I had a slight issue with the washing machine but within 48 hours maintenance came and did a fix and now everything is okay.

As far as location for this apartment it’s great. So many places around for dining and going out, not to mention its proximity to the waterfront.

The gym is great, usually even if it’s busy you are able to work around others and there is plenty of options to get your workouts in.

The pool, makes this place feel like a resort, along with the hot tub, a Sauna and a steam room it’s epic.

Even in the evenings when you want to use the grills or sit around the fire pits this place makes home feel bougie and I love it. Most of the residents I have encountered have been very nice and friendly and willing to share space especially with outdoor cooking.

Jesse was the leasing agent I worked with and she was fantastic, anytime I had a question and I had a lot of them, she would answer and I felt she was honest each time. I moved from across the country so this was a little stressful but she helped so much. Even after moving in she continues to be helpful as do all of the other staff I have encountered.

I would say the only thing keeping me from giving this place 5/5 stars is the internet. While I do not WFH it has gone out a few times and safety net offers their apologies but to me this seems insufficient due to the fact without internet Tv, computers streaming etc are options you cannot use. I feel this option of having “ safety net “ be the sole provider , in this age isn’t right without at least one other option. Unfortunately due to this you’re at Safety Net’s mercy and I do hope they figure this out. So I sympathize with other residents who are frustrated at this issue especially when it’s work from home related.

However I do not blame the local staff for these issues and anytime I have a question or a request the staff has been really helpful.

If anything changes I will update my review but as of now I recommend this community and look forward to enjoying my time here.

Update OCT 2024. Been here now 4 months and love it, Im changing form 4 stars to 5.

Haven’t had an internet issue in months, actually forgot that was ever a problem. Between the amenities and how it feels in such a luxury place it’s awesome. The gym, the pool, the lounge areas with the fire places and grills. Love it all. Tonight Onni held a Halloween party with a movie night and it was awesome. They had drinks from alcohol to non alcohol, snacks, treats and a movie in projector! I love the inclusiveness of this community....

Update July 8, 2024

I’ve had the pleasure of living in the Onni for the past 13 months and the experience has been nothing but amazing. If you’re searching for your next place to call home—look no further, this is your place. A melting pot of people, families, and professionals, at the Onni you can’t help but belong.

The building is in the epicenter of East Village. Blocks away from the Long Beach Convention Center means walkable access to the Christmas Tree lighting and events like Complexcon. A bevy of eateries from lowkey delis, to the ambiance-rich Ammatoli, and even hidden gems like Arize. There’s also no shortage of cute brunch spots and a very lively night life one block away on Pine.

When initially searching for our next home, Garrett was absolutely pivotal in helping us see the Onni East Village as our next home. Attentive, full of knowledge, and always available—Garrett made the process so easy and exciting. Anytime we would run into him, it was always with a kind smile and calling us by our names. It’s small details like this that truly show the staff of Onni truly care about its residences. Thank you, Garrett!

As a matter of fact, the entire staff from the front desk workers, to security, to maintenance to the leasing agents—all are top notch and part of what makes the Onni East Village so special.

A huge shoutout to Jessie from the leasing office who has been absolutely phenomenal during our second look around. If you are reading this and are looking for an agent or have questions—Jessie is your girl! Extremely personable, patient, kind, and communicative—it was absolutely heartbreaking for us when we ultimately decided that we would be leaving the Onni just because of the relationship we were able to foster with Jessie. Thank you Jessie! 🥹

There’s so much more I want to say about how amazing living at the Onni has been but I def think this is long enough. Thank you Onni for making the last 13 months insanely incredible. I wouldn’t be surprised if my future residence leads me back here!

I've been meaning to write this review for a while, so big shoutout to our front desk star, Allen!

Having lived in several luxury residences in SF and LA, Allen easily stands out as the best front desk person I've encountered. He always greets everyone genuinely, remembers names, and goes above and beyond to make us feel safe and welcomed. He also has a kind demeanor that instantly makes you feel as if you're talking with a long time friend.

Since moving in last May, Allen's been a huge help. From suggesting great restaurants, sorting out key issues, to figuring out how to get big packages up to my place. I'll never forget his kindness when I struggled with a heavy dining table; he jumped right in to help without a second thought.

Allen's efforts make our building feel like a tight-knit community, not just a place to live. Big thanks...
