ROCK/THRASH/METAL CONCERT GOERS BEWARE:
I've been to this venue twice, once for Evanescence and once for Bring Me the Horizon (BMTH) which was recently. As you can see, those two bands have totally different crowds (one moshes the other doesn't).
The Evanescence show was fine, stayed in my same spot for the entire show, alright viewing, GREAT sound.
However, the HORRIBLE experience I had with the security guards at this venue during BMTH was unforgiving. I came with a group of 6 friends, all SUPER EXCITED to see our favorite nostalgic band. We arrived the earliest to the venue and were pretty much at the front. In general, this usually means that we earned our spot on a GA floor, obviously I'm not saying I own it, but I'm saying that we arrived early for the reason of being able to see them just a bit closer even if it wasn't PIT.
Anyways, They started letting people in and we were right behind the PIT ring which cost about ($20 more to be a part of). We were minding our business, being happy that we were all here together until I notice that a security guard started separating people LIKE CATTLE away to another ring and my friend pointed out they took away 4 of our friends including my sister and everyone else behind me? This HAS NEVR in the history of me concert going has happened to me ever. What I PAY for is what I get, and the fact that what was shown online wasn't representative of reality was just deceptive and another way to cash-grab people. Of course, I was taken away too because I COULDN'T LEAVE MY SISTER ALONE and my two other friends stayed.
How can a venue do this? Why did they let a bunch of people in only to separate us? There was no one there accounting for everyone entering and that is the FLAW of the management of the place, IT IS NOT MY FAULT, or at the cost of MY EXPERIENCE that I paid $106 hard earned dollars on. Only to be separated from my friends at a concert we've been looking forward to since the tickets were released in MARCH.
THE funniest part is at even the lead singer of BMTJ was FED UP with how the venue was structured and said "The way this venue is structured...wow, why'd choose this?" And making every effort possible for us to be able to engage despite the highly RESTRICTIVE structure of the venue for ROCK/METAL acts.
To conclude, Absolute WORST experience I've had at any venue I've ever gone to in my life. I've been going to concerts for 7 years now, rock and metal, and usually those venues would be SEATLESS and just a normal GA floor. Another thing, DON'T COME TO THIS VENUE IF YOU LIKE MOSHING, etc. The physical form of the place is discouraging of any kind of moving etc. It's worth driving up to Revolution Live and Culture room, Bayside and Filmore are mainly focused on cash grabbing.

Read moreOn Sunday, April 21, my father and I went to see the "Rosario and Lolita Flores" concert. I paid $200 to take my father to see his favorite singer as an early Father's Day gift. We were both so excited! Unfortunately, our night did not start nor did it end right.
The show was starting at 8:30pm and so, at about 8:15pm, we started to make our way to our seats. For the record, the ushers are amazing and very courteous and friendly. I had to ask about three of them how exactly to get to our seats, and all three were very sweet and attentive. As we were following an usher to our seats, we approached these very large (width-wise) and dark steps. I proceeded to tell my dad to be careful because they were dark and you could barely see them (the steps do not have lights as is custom in theaters as a safety precaution). Of course, after the first step, he missed and fell to his left in between two rows. He hit his head and left eye with the iron armrest and was bleeding. The usher who stayed with us was very calming and he immediately called the paramedics.
The paramedic, Ronnie Sanchez, went above and beyond in comforting and taking care of my dad. He was the sweetest and even came once in the middle of the show to see how he was feeling. He eventually helped my dad walk to his seat. The police officers in the lobby were also amazing and very kind and respectful. When my dad fell, in the middle of the chaos, some lady approached me frantically screaming that she had also seen someone else trip and fall that same evening because of how dangerous and dark those steps are. Although my dad did not require at that moment medical attention beyond being seen by the paramedic that night, he did have to go to the emergency room a few days later because the pain and discomfort were unbearable.
When I called this week and left two voice messages, my sole purpose was to discuss the safety issues at hand and press on how important it is for them to correct this. I haven't heard back from anyone. I'm not sure, if they just do not care or if they do but prefer not to speak to me. Bottom line is, they need to update their steps and light them up. My dad and I have been very kind and understanding thus far, but others may not be and they can be seen with a big legal mess in their hands.

Read moreNot impressed. We went to the Jordon Peterson experience. It was an experience alright, event started at 730. We arrived at 5:48. We asked the staff where is the line. Sent us to box office, we had online tickets we showed them, sent us to box office anyway. Box office opened at 630 so we wasted about an hour. After the line, the Box office told us we made the wrong line. No problem right? We found the correct line. Stood there till about 7:05, at which time they began telling us about clear bag policy and covid vaccine cards. No problem here either, we had ours, other people did not and complained it wasnt clear. We went in just fine, though the line was huge and they should have started letting people in before. It was cold btw and The staff was literally watching the line grow.
2 drinks will run you about 38.00 thats 2 gin and tonics. Be advised its CC only. A double scotch and gin was 54.00 plus tip.
Jordon Peterson, well the event scheduled to start at 7:30 ended up starting at 8:36 Thats an hour late. They didint even apologize, they made light of it. That's disappointing and disrespectful to people's time.
The event itself was more of a monologue than a lecture or discussion and as an educator, it seemed Jordon was tired and perhaps evening "winging it". The audience consisted of some academics, but also some very fanatical folks. It was an interesting group of people for sure.
The introduction was not conducive to a good atmosphere, it was strongly anti mask, to the point where they mentioned, albeit jokingly, to kick out anyone in the audience wearing masks. I support people's freedoms and I dont think using the power a stage brings you to voice an opinion like that is honorable. It seems like a misuse of power at minimum. Some audience members were wearing masks.
Finally, we decided to leave after 30 mins, we had made plans and starting an hour late ruined our evening. Upon leaving we were stopped by security to ensure our drinks were disposed. Only a book vendor asked why we were leaving early, she mentioned a few others left too. I can only imagine they felt as disappointed as I did. Overall a wasted night that cost us...
