4 star farmers market.
This is more like a co-op than a farmers market. There are three registers in the stall area. One additional register at the drive thru. The drive thru it appears is for pre-ordered items. I believe you can pre- order bulk or individually for ready to pickup through the drive thru.
The stall area is set up pre-covid style. Tight aisles with most items in bins where everyone reaches in with their hands. Nobody was social distancing... Everyone including the employees were wearing masks. However, the open bins with people touching and picking through the fruits and vegetables was a little concerning...
Not sure what to think about it....all things considered.
Lots of homemade style jams and jellys. Additionally, (unusual for a farm stand...they have frozen and refrigerated items. Quiches, bacon, ice cream even a slushy machine two ciders a lemonade and a cherry. Bride loved the cider options.
Worth going to for unusual items and heirloom...
Read moreWhen you pull into the parking lot, you first see the flowers they sell. You notice a huge canopy where all the market produce is sold. There are tons of fresh vegetables sold here, even organic ones. Josh's Farmers Market also sells homestead creamery milk and lemonade along with cheese, jelly, peanut butter, and more products in the refrigerators. The owner of the fish stand travels back to the coast weekly to get fresh seafood that is cleaned, cut, and put on ice Wednesday and Thursday. Finally, it is sold on Friday at the market. I have been buying salmon, trigger fish, and flounder filets(black bottom) from here. The listing of seafood is on a huge board and on JFM seafood website where you can pre-order. The fish is hands down the best, so it's worth the drive to...

I can buy the same at my local Mooresville grocery.
Sorry, but your lengthy reply misses the point. When I buy "local" produce, I want to buy it directly from the farmer...not a middleman. The Mooresville Farmers Market let me connect with the local farmers so I knew he/she was getting the full benefit of my purchase and I knew exactly the quality I was buying. There are grocers, like Harris Teeter, who sell local produce and tell me exactly where it came from...that's the second...
