If you don't want to read it all just skip to the bottom.

Having Recently bought a PS3 from a local shop i was on the hunt to sell it so i could get a xbox (which i should have done in the beginning). After Packing my ps3 up in all the original packaging and taping the box closed i went to The Great Escape in Madison to see how much they'd offer. After hooking the Ps3 up and playing about five minutes of Hell Boy the guy behind the counter told me they'd offer me $125 cash for it (i had bought it 7 days before for $299.). I promptly said no and was handed the box, then the controller, then the cords and finally the Ps3 so that I could put it back in the box after they took it all out. Now i should mention here here that before they started on me the same guy had told the lady before me they would not except any game console that didn't have all the cords. Now when i was handed the cords after telling them no, the guy tells me i didn't have a USB cord. At this point i'm confused because i had packed everything, even tested it all twice to make sure it all worked. I told them no i had had one in the box before i sealed the box and brought it to them. so the guy looks around for like 5 mins and says. I don't think i dropped one, but if you can't find it at your house you can come back we have cheap ones.

At that point i just left, because theres no way to prove he stole the USB cord, or if maybe it dropped out on the box when he carelessly grabbed everything out and didn't pay attention. all i have to say is they now have a brand new cord thanks to me for free, so i'm never going back. And if you go make sure you have proof of what you hand...

I wish I had better things to say, having shopped at the various Great Escape locations in Middle Tennessee for over 30 years. This location doesn't reach its potential and could use a renovation in all areas. My wife, who will accompany me almost anywhere, refuses to enter the store because of the smell--somewhere between high school locker room and urine. I can't argue with that. As others have noted, the staff is less than engaging, and a few are outright indifferent. There's often an awkwardness to interactions when they do engage at the counter. The comic wall is lean, the selection of new weekly titles smaller and more conservative than some other shops in the area. And the on-hand stock in general feels more middle-of-the road, average in quality. I'm not saying there's nothing to be found, but where I regularly spend $30-$80 in other area stores with similar offerings, I never break $25 at this Great Escape. Likewise, I can lose myself for an hour or more in other shops, but here I find myself typically ready to leave after 15-20 minutes, even when alone. My feeling is that an overhaul is long overdue, a sell-down of the least desirable product that would allow this place to begin a front-to-back, top-to-bottom redesign of the customer experience. This could be an amazing store, given the square footage and variety of...

Just left the Madison location and had to use the restroom while i was there. Well they said someone had the key and was using it i waited for 5 mins i know for sure. I knocked on the door just to make sure someone hadn’t maybe walked out with the key. Out comes an employee and hands me the key. When i went to walk out the heavy set guy with the beard tells me CUSTOMERS ACANT KNOCK ON DOORS and that he told me the key was gone for a reason. Well needless to say they have and employee restroom. But don’t under Why it’s a big deal for you as an employee to say something about someone knocking on the door. I HAVE MADE PLENTY OF PURCHASE FROM THOS LOCATION I’ll just say i won’t be returning. MAKE YOUR EMPLOYEES USE THE EMPLOYEE RESTROOM LIKE YOU MAKE YOUR CUSTOMERS USE THE CUSTOMER RESTROOM!!!’

Now about my visit I WALKED IN NO ONE spoke asked did i need help anything they just sit there and wait to collect your money. I asked about a game and he said well if we have it it would be right over there. NO OFFER TO HELP OR LOOK TO SEE IF THEY HAVE ONE THERE BECAUSE I HAVE PURCHASED games from there that aren’t on the self!

SMH FROM NOW ON ILL BE GIVING MY MONEY TO PAWNS SHOPS AND...

Decent selection of video games, all priced at or below market value! This review is from the perspective of a retro video game collector. Inventory: 4/5 - A great collection of current and retro games! Mostly common stuff, and just a few rare/valuable titles, but stock is always changing and you might strike gold if you're checking back often. Value: 5/5 - They always base their prices on current market value. In addition, Manager's Specials and 20% off storewide sales are common. Location: 4/5 - Plenty of parking, but it can be difficult to get back on the main road when leaving. Organization is decent, but not perfect. Bathroom key available upon request. The store is very clean, and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly! Overall: 5/5. Best retro game selection of the local Great Escape locations. Definitely worth a visit!

My husband went to return a Xbox 360 and was going to buy two Xbox One controllers but the owner was being a a****** he did not refund my husband his money, then sold my husband 2 xbox 1 controllers for $50 each one of the controllers handles was all scratched up and he pealed off the stickers not knowing my husband already seen the price on them they were $36 and $25. Not doing good business and not being honest that's not going to make anybody want to come back and do business with you. Only went there for my daughter. I would not recommend anybody to go there unless you want to get ripped off.

Great spot to find used books, movies, games and music. For blu rays and dvds most run you about $3.00, while comics can range based on size or rarity. For a like new copy of the Swamp Thing omnibus, I only had to pay about 7.99, which was fantastic. The staff here is incredibly helpful, although the store does lack a formal system of organization. It feels like a treasure hunt digging through the hundreds of volumes and cases, and the thrill of finding something you've been hunting for makes the trip here well worth it. Check out the Great Escape, and good luck!
