I've been to this store several times before but I will never return. While I understand that I was visiting the store on Lunar New Year; there was no excuse for the level of hostility I got from the cashier that rang me up. I greeted her with a hello, Happy New Year to which I received no response. The woman would not even look at me. I was having a hard time getting my debit card to read so she grabbed it from me and shoved it in the machine. Although the attitude that she took while doing this very rude action was quite aggressive I thanked her just the same because I was having an issue with the card. She gave no response. When I placed my bag on the countertop to load my groceries in it she took several items and just slammed them in the bag. The level of hostility was so over-the-top that my friend I brought to the store with me and asked me why I would even bother to spend money in a place that treated me like that. If I thought it would have helped I would have spoken to the manager. I am Black; I felt that I received this treatment because I didn't see any of the other cashiers behaving that way with customers. There weren't even long lines. There was no one in life behind me. I wasn't rude just the opposite. In fact, I even wished her Happy New Year on my departure. That said this is the kind of over racism that members of the Black community often encounter from Asian immigrants. Less so from 2nd Generation folks. That said I had 2 other commercial exchanges in Flushing that day that went nothing like this one. In those exchanges I was treated with dignity and respect by Chinese shop...
Read moreMy mom stopped by this supermarket today after a doctorâs visit to pick up some fruit. She has an old hand injury that makes it difficult to handle things, and she may have accidentally dropped a piece of fruit under the counter, possibly hitting the cashierâs foot. She didnât notice, and nothing was said at the time.
After paying, she politely asked if she could have an extra bag to use as a tie, but the cashier rudely said âno,â and only then brought up the foot incident, saying, âyou hit my foot and didnât even apologize.â My mother immediately explained that she hadnât realized and it wasnât intentional, but the cashier continued to speak to her in a disrespectful and condescending way.
I later checked the reviews and saw many others have complained about the poor service here. As a business owner myself, I understand how important customer service is. I hope management takes these concerns seriouslyâjust because elderly customers donât leave reviews doesnât mean they can be mistreated or spoken to however one pleases.
Service like this will only drive more customers away. But maybe the management simply doesnât...
Read moreThis place has no respect for its customers. The following is not an event that I heard from other customers but from my own family experience. On the eve of Chinese New Year 2019, a member of my family was shopping there in the late morning. She has shopped there many times before. A regular customer. She paid for all items however, she forgot one in a separate bag. I included a picture of the receipt of the items purchased on that day. Store staff surround her and did not allow her to leave. They took her to the manager office to take a photo of her to keep in his sick book and also to display for the public at the cash register. I am not even sure if that is legal. In his office, she offered to pay twice for the item in question. He refused an insist on calling the police. Police came and arrested her within 5 mins of the call.
I cannot type in Chinese, if you are reading this please translate it to your own family members to NOT shop here. There are plenty of other supermarkets around the neighborhood. Remember price does not equal...
