Read moreYesterday my daughter was racially profiled by one of the employees. My daughter who is 3 years old was standing in line to get on the helicopters and monster trucks and the worker by the name of Kathleen refused to allow my daughter to get on due to her being too short. ,(which she was not.) I measured my daughter and so did another employee but this lady still refused to let my child on. As you can see in the picture that I will attach, my daughter was of height. After this she proceeded to allow a younger Caucasian little boy on who was clearly shorter than my daughter when I asked her why. She said because she had the right to choose who she wanted to allow to ride the ride. My daughter was distraught and she did not understand what was going on. She could not understand why she was not being able to ride the ride and all I could say to her was you will understand when you get older but right now we'll go find something different. Never in my life Have I ever been so humiliated? It is one thing to do it to me. I'm an adult. I can handle it but when it comes to my child I am definitely Mama Bear. It's sad to say that it's 2025 in racism still exist. If you are person who is racist you should not be working in an environment like this when there are many people from all different walks of life and all different races who attend this amusement park. Even today my daughter says she wants to go back but she can't ride the motorcycles right? I am livid because I know this has affected her even though she can't tell me how it affects her personally. It is something that she is thinking about because it has happened to her. I've never had no problems with the park. It is a place I take my children often, but this one particular person has caused this establishment to lose a lifelong participant. Me and my children will not be patronizing disestablishment as long as this...
Read moreWe went to Gillian's Wonderland after previously visiting both the Atlantic City public beach by Bally's & the Steel Pier Amusement park in Atlantic City. We visited A.C. on Friday, and Ocean City's public beach & Gillian's Amusement Park on Saturday. The Atlantic City beach was almost deserted, despite being directly adjacent to Bally's lively "Beach Bar". The "Steel Pier" amusement park has a large ticket booth directly in front of the outdoor Ride area. If you were foolish enough to buy any of the exorbitant ticket packages offered, you would then discover that ALL of the most popular Rides would NOT HONOR those tickets- they each sold their own, seperate, extremely expensive tickets. For example- the Ferris Wheel for 1 person= 15 Dollars The Slingshot for 1 person= 20 Dollars. It's a carefully designed, massive ripoff of visiting tourist families. The "ticket packages" only work on the kiddy rides. ON THE OTHER HAND: OCEAN CITY. The public beach had in excess of 3000 people on it, with plenty of room for everyone. ( the lifeguards were discussing the crowd) The Ocean City beach had chair rentals, umbrella rentals, Para-sailing, food vendors, great surf, and cleaner water. You could also call & arrange for a beach-accessable wheelchair for disabled visitors. (Call at least a day in Advance!!) The Gillian's Ferris wheel= 5 dollars/tickets. They didn't have a "slingshot" to compare, but they had an excellent roller coaster to enjoy- I believe it was 7 tickets. There were plenty of places to eat along the Boardwalk, also. There was no real comparision, Ocean City was a MUCH BETTER EXPERIENCE in every way. Also We went there on a New Jersey Transit public bus, the 507. It dropped us off 1 block from the Boardwalk itself, and we walked north on the Boardwalk about 4 streets north...
