Recreation Outlet — Attraction in Ogden

UPDATE: I called, per the response to my original review, and the Assistant Manager, Hunter, was totally awesome and really helpful and cooperative. I was able to return the item, get something that was what I needed and got a gift card for the difference. Again, store policy is to keep your receipt, but they were gracious. I winter be losing any other receipts! Although this store is awesome with great prices, KEEP YOUR RECEIPT. If there is a problem with ANYTHING purchased, you are stuck without a receipt. They won't give you store credit or anything even if the item still had original tags. I would have been great with store credit, but the gloves I purchased didn't fit for what I needed and my the gift for my hubby want what he wanted. I was sure I kept my receipt, but couldn't find it. Imagine my surprise when I called the store and was told I was out of luck. No store credit, nada. Also, I can only try to find something in the same category that is the exact same price or (you guessed it) more expensive! I have my card receipt but no good. Nice place and good products. The staff is friendly and nice to work with. However, their parking rules are restrictive and quite frankly annoying. I'm not sure if this is coming directly from Recreational Outlet, but I think the policy needs to be toned down a bit. Two people I know have been towed by their company for parking there and not shopping. If you do shop there you only have two hours, so if you want to walk out the front entrance and enjoy some other parts of downtown Ogden nearby you risk being towed away. I get that some people shouldn't be parking there regularly, but I think they at least deserve a warning beforehand. Really though, if you honestly have a person that watches the parking lot like a hawk then I think you can at least give a fair warning. The signs are easily missed and not easy to read from a vehicle. Hope to see some changes so that I can give this...

Rec Outlet is hands down the best outdoor recreation store in Northern Utah and possibly the solar system. Any person with an itch for the outdoors, travel, or adventure can find something worthwhile in this deep store of deals. The staff really know their goods and can be essential to finding what you need to solve your problem or answer questions.
