I'm really not sure why anyone in Philadelphia would ever go to Chipotle or Qudoba for Mexican "food truck" food. This place makes Chipotle look like McDonald's and Qudoba look like Checkers - thus, pure trash! Never ever will I frequent Chipotle when in Philly. I would be just throwing my money away if I did. The ingredients here are top notch no other way to explain it. The spicy beef is real meat, long thick strands of shredded beef looks like breaded hair it's super tender so u know it's been cooked for hours! The taste omg turely spicy and just moisture filled with the juices it was cooked in. My only compliant is that they don't have the worlds best pepper sauce - Tabasco! Like really no Tabasco?? The only have one sauce, like c'mon even taco Bell has like 7 sauces! Really should take a star for that but I won't bc the food is so good and sauce is not required. But I still would like the options - I mean there should even be a habanero or Chipotle or Sriracha, hell of them! remember this review is for the food ONLY. The staff I was not impressed by anything. The place was very clean for the amount of ppl and traffic that goes in/out of this place. Clean restroom. But way too small the owners need to come to the realization that they need to upgrade and move or expand the current space. The place is...
Read moreIf you love Chipotle, don't go to El Fuego. Fuego will make you realize Chipotle sucks, and force you to never go back to Chipotle. I go to Fuego once or twice a week, but I could easily go more. The ingredients are fresh and fantastic, and anyone that says you don't get enough guacamole probably got tacos. A taco shell only has so much space, so when you add meat/rice/cheese/salsa, you're only looking at a tiny amount of space for the guac. When you order a burrito or a bowl, you get a big heaping spoonful, and anyone who thinks a big spoonful of guac is too expensive shouldn't be writing reviews. The price of everything combined is a little pricey, but for fresh ingredients it's well worth it. Finally, the service there is fantastic, but it's a lot like the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld. If you don't know what you want, you really need to get the hell out of the way to make room for the people who do. That's not coming from them, that's coming from me, because you're making yourself look dumb while also impeding my progress towards consuming my glorious...

What I ordered: 3 Tacos (steak, chicken, chorizo) Side of guac and side of Fuego sauce (their signature spicy salsa)
All together cost 10.89 after tax. Seriously good price...however, there are some things that are sacrificed, mainly the tortilla (store bought bulk tortillas; doesn’t hold moisture well) i.e. the server didn’t drain my “mild salsa” very well my tacos became a tad soggy.
The guacamole was fresh and achieves a shuttle lime flavor with brighter flavor notes than Chipotle’s. The fuego sauce taste like actual chipotle peppers and has that smokiness and is a touch under habanero spicy.
I would have give 4 star if the chorizo was fresh(surprising cuz I went during lunch on a weekday) however it was dry and overdone, and hard to chew in a taco since the chunks are so large. They were out of spicy beef so I’ll try that next time.
I’ll definitely go back, and only order the chorizo when it’s a fresh batch. Hopefully they can drain the pico de Gallo a little better next time: get the fuego and guac...
