Shop Therapy — Attraction in Provincetown

Been shopping here for as long as I can remember, literally! Ever since I got my license and could skip out of class with my friends and head up to ptown, our first stop was always Shop Therapy of course. Coming to this store for nearly 16 years. BUT!!! This time while in there with my kiddos- my 14 year old daughter was checking out all the great headbands and head scarves, had a few in her hands, and some vinyl stickers for her phone, and one of the employees, a young reddish/blondish hair, short lady came up to her and demanded she hold all her items at the front. My daughter had a tee shirt, and shorts on, no baggy hoodie, no jacket, no back pack, not even a purse, NO WHERE TO HIDE ANYTHING- she wasn't stealing a single thing! This kid doesn't even fit the mold of a kid to steal! I ended up buying her $75.00 dollars worth of headbands so YOUR WELCOME! She was so embarrassed she didn't even want to ask for her stuff back! Pay more attention to people who are actually trying to rip you off, not young girls who are looking at merchandise directly in front of you, in front of the cash register in plain sight and embarrass the hell out of them!!!! Everything in the shop is so cool and awesome, I’ve been there multiple times and it never fails to impress me. The only reason I am leaving this review is because of the person at the counter who was working. They were rude and very hostile, they had on rainbow makeup and a rainbow outfit, it looked awesome and I was going to compliment them but then they were so rude while I was just trying to make a purchase, like I was an inconvenience or something. Never in my life have I met someone more unkind, I had thought maybe it was just me and I was in my head or something, but I asked my friend, mom, and moms friend, and they all said the same thing. Again I love this store so much but that experience made me not want to go back in which is really disappointing because i’ve always loved it and the usual kind...

Used to love going there always great ppl, but today there was an older gentleman not very nice to his employee from what I heard while shopping. And every time I looked over my shoulder he was there, staring me down like I’m trying steal everything on the magnet cart?? Like that’s never happened there before? I’ve never seen him working before? And I didn’t notice the “put ur items up front” sign because it was so tiny. Maybe make ur signs larger then people wouldn’t misunderstand them. But whatever, i can get past that. I just hope what I heard him say wasn’t directed to an employee because it’s was unacceptable and very unprofessional. But I could have misheard.
