Read moreMy husband and I had not had a great experience here once before but decided to give it a second chance.
The first time, my husband and I we're looking for a piece of furniture, and was followed the whole time. The guy "helping" us said he would give us space but would be standing maybe a chair length away from us. He also told us stories when we were trying to decide on a piece of furniture. Ultimately, we didn't buy from Ashley's. The guy that was helping us went to check something, so we found that as an opportunity to escape and leave the store.
This time around, no one followed us, and the person helping us was actually very helpful at first. We were looking for a couch that would pull out into a bed and was shown the only option they had right away. The guy who was helping us left us alone to talk about and think about our options (color and size). We have a slightly smaller door frame and asked the man helping us if it would fit. He claimed it definitely would, and when I brought up my concern that it wouldn't fit, he said it definitely would. My husband and I brought up wanting to get measurements, but he didn't have a measuring tape and felt confident it would fit, so my husband ordered. They only have one delivery day available for my area, so my husband took the day off to be available to get the delivery. Day of delivery they let us know 10mins out that they would be here soon. As my husband and I thought the couch did not fit. They took the couch back same day, and my husband spent 45mins on the phone explaining over and over what happened to the person on the phone. The person said that my husband would get a refund in 24-48 hours. In the meantime, Ashley's sent 2 messages to my husband and 3 to me asking for a review. He didn't receive his refund, so he contacted Ashley's again, spent another 30mins on the phone with them, and went back to the store like the person on the phone said to. Once he got to the store, they told him this wasn't something they could help with in the store. He ended up getting his refund days later.
DO NOT BUY FROM ASHLEY'S!!!!!
We ended up going to Valley furniture and were shown multiple options. We found 3 that we liked and picked from there. My husband and I brought a tape measure with us and was even offered one by the staff there. When it came time to place the order, they offered us a few different delivery days and times. Dining Set: Most troubling is the first night we used our dining set a chair leg broke. I inspected all the chairs and they were all loose. I had to tighten all of them. One table seem, where the leaves line up, doesnt line up correctly and another is chipped.
TV stand: There is a scratch on the top which is not a distressed mark. The trim pieces and reveals are gapped or don’t line up correctly.
Bookcase: one of my bookcases has a big gap where the front piece meets the side piece. There was a 2” chip of wood that was glued back on. A small piece of wood is chipped on the bottom shelf. Moving straps were cut but they left 2” straps dangling from the bottom shelf. Back legs were put on crooked.
Couch - chase lounge cushion has a dip or or high spot like the cushion was folded. The material is also loose. None of the back rest cushions have a straight seam at the top. Not sure if its meant to look like this. Top edge looks rippled or wavey.
I like what I picked out but Im disappointed in the quality and craftsmanship
Update: Very pleased with how the situation was rectified. All staff involved remained courteous and professional. They price matched with their online pricing and refunded me the difference. It meant a lot to me that this was handled with such easy and kindness. I really needed that today.
Somewhat aggressive sales force. The first few times i came in, I was just coming into to look around and show a friend. I didnt want to be disturb. I just wanted to look in peace. I was followed a few times even after i told two different sales people I was just looking and didn’t want to be disturbed. I told them when I was ready to commit I would seek their help. I kept my promise and went to the first sales person that approached me during my search. My interaction with Donavon and the mangers was a good experience. Donavon was still learning the ropes but did well. However, i did notice several employees not wearing their mask properly. Which was concerning because my husband has some health issues at the moment. Fortunately, Donavon was thoughtful and wore his mask properly or we would have gone to someone else. I have a text out to Donavon bc many of the piece were cheaper online and I could have saved $750.00. Im waiting to hear from him. I may update my review when I hear the explanation regarding the...
