UNSAFE! DISGUSTING! Two separate people tried getting in our room After 11:30 at night, one of them being the manager! he opened our door at 1145 at night with his master key! DO NOT STAY HERE! I’m not kidding! This review is long for a reason. Please read it for your safety.
PLEASE, DO NOT STAY HERE! I DON’T CARE IF YOU GET THE BEST DEAL OF THE CENTURY, THIS IS NOT A SAFE PLACE TO STAY! IT IS COMPLETELY FILTHY AND DISGUSTING!
To start, let me just say, I have really low standards when it comes to hotels. I’ve stayed in some nasty places, but this one took the cake! This is the type of lodging that has the doors open to the outside, there’s not actually interior hallways just outside halls. It felt so gross and scary that I kept my pocket knife next to the bed for some sort of protection. I probably could’ve dealt with the filth, but I could not deal with the fact that somebody tried getting in our room at about 1130 and then about 15 minutes later the manager comes and opens the door with his master key! It was so scary!! He was Claiming that somebody Called him from Room 220 saying they couldn’t get in. How was somebody calling from a room that they can’t get in to? it was a good thing I fixed the broken security latch before we went to bed and shoved a chair under the door handle so he couldn’t actually come in. If somebody actually did call him saying they couldn’t get into the room, he should do some safety checking protocol before just going into somebody’s room like that. Especially two women! As soon as I closed the door and the manager left, my daughter said mommy can we please go home? YES WE CAN! And we did. My daughter and I were both terrified and we packed up our things right then and left to do our long drive home. We went to the office to check out And get our $100 deposit back and the manager who came into the room unannounced would not issue us a refund.
My nine-year-old daughter and I booked this room, and the second we walked into the office We both looked at each other and said how creepy it felt. They had a sign on the check-in counter, saying no breakfast is being served due to Covid, that ended a long time ago. We didn’t really care much about that because the place was so disgusting, We wouldn’t have wanted to eat there anyway.
They require $100 deposit at the time of check-in which is listed nowhere on their website that I could find. Neither of us wanted to check in, but we kind of didn’t have an option on anywhere else to go And we had already paid the money online. We got the key to our room and went to check it out even before taking any of our luggage there because it all just felt so gross, We didn’t know if we should stay. I thought for sure we were going get trapped in the elevator. It was so disgusting and dirty and we didn’t use it again after that first time. I’m surprised that it even worked.
They were doing construction and they had construction stuff in the way in the halls. We got to our room and it smelled terrible! The carpet was so disgusting. I told my daughter not to take her shoes off at any point in time. The shower was disgusting and stunk so bad! The stairwell looked like several crimes have been committed there. It was so filthy, ramshackle and gross! The place advertises a pool, which we could see from the stairwell, and it was filled over with cement.
We did end up bringing our luggage up to the room, but we didn’t let anything touch the floor.
When we left after the man tried coming into our room, we went to the office and the manager who came into the room said I could call this morning to speak to his parents who run the place and talk to them about the refund. Well, surprise, surprise, when I called this morning, they weren’t Available to talk to. It was the same guy who came into our room that answered the phone today. I have contacted the police about this.
I should’ve taken more pictures as proof, but I just couldn’t get out of there fast enough!
PLEASE, DO NOT STAY HERE! I care about...
Read moreBEWARE- DO NOT GIVE THIS HOTEL CASH DEPOSIT OR ANY DEPOSIT. As I stepped into the Metropolitan Inn, the promise of a comfortable stay was overshadowed by an unsettling encounter with illegal activity. I approached the front desk where a stern-faced clerk, who I later learned was named DK, requested a cash deposit of $100. Obliging, I handed over the sum, eager to settle into my room for the night.||||A receipt for the security deposit was handed to me, a tangible reassurance of the transaction. However, the certainty it provided was short-lived. In the whirlwind of settling in, the receipt vanished, either misplaced or stolen from my possession. Concerned, I swiftly contacted the hotel, explaining the situation and my urgent need to retrieve the deposit.||||The first call, made at 7:00 AM, was an attempt to notify the hotel of my misplaced receipt and the need to recover my deposit. I was informed that in order to reclaim my deposit, I would need to present identification matching the name on the room reservation. It seemed a reasonable request, until a subsequent call shattered any sense of trust I had in the establishment.||||At 11:00 AM, I dialed the hotel once more, this time to notify them of my delayed arrival. Shockingly, I was informed that my deposit had already been handed over to an individual claiming to be a friend, without any requirement for identification verification. The hotel could not tell me any information about this individual and have no signature or verification of who this person is that was handed my 100 cash deposit. I suspect the front desk agent may be involved in some criminal activity, or simply negligent and did not follow their own policy and procedure.||||It's evident that something was amiss. Why was there a sudden deviation from standard protocol? Suspicion lingered in the air, casting doubt on the integrity of the establishment.
