There is a lot of options for candy but there was this old man (the worker). I had candy in my hands I was about to purchase and I pick up a candy and when I when to put it back it fell and he told me those break easily and he said put it back and I said oh ok sorry and put it back and then he said and where is that other candy that you picked up and never put back and I had accidentally left it in one of the barrels and he said go get it and put it back and I am aid oh sorry I thought I put it back and I couldn't see it anywhere so theny friend got it for me because she found it for me and I put it back and then he said oh not only do you not put stuff back you are also a liar and I was like I'm not lieing I thought I put it back and he said oh that is funny liar and I said sorry and I was waiting for my friends to find there candy because I already had mine and I was just gonna leave because I felt really uncomfortable so I put my candy I was gonna get I put it back and he said ok if you guys are not gonna get anthing leave and he said acctally just leavr now so we walked out . It didn’t bother me too much that we weren’t greeted when we first walked in, despite there being two people behind the counter and one was talking to the only other person in the store (we have grown accustomed to today’s low standard of customer service across the board). What prompted the review was the response when I pulled out my change purse to get 68 cents in coins before I pulled 3 dollar bills from my wallet. The guy at the register had the gall to ask where we were from (we travel for work and aren’t from this area), and if they don’t use real money there. Since when is American currency not considered “real money”? I saved the store the credit card fee by using actual cash, but was treated like garbage for not using plastic. Despite this store having a candy I like that is hard to find in any other stores, I won’t be returning solely because of how I was talked to here....
Read moreWe were walking around the Gateway mall in Salt Lake City and stumbled upon a candy store called Candy Barrel, which was a total bust. Their candy selection was lame and overpriced, with most of the stuff you can find at any gas station. The owner was super unfriendly and didn't even acknowledge us like at all… which was pretty weird.
