Super run down!

I went here about 5-6 years ago and it was great, but went back now (June 2022) and it has really declined in quality.

Ambience- the best part of this bar is the fabulous view of petco park. However, the bar is so dirty and there were cockroaches everywhere!! I know it's normal to see cockroaches on the street in downtown, but never have I seen so many in a bar especially one on the second floor! They were all around the floor by our tables, by the bar etc. we counted at least 10 that were scurrying around the whole time we were there- and I would never come back for this reason. Even if not for them, the tables were not being bussed so our table was pretty dirty, the floor isn't clean, and so overall quality of the bar is far below other nice cocktail bars in San Diego (eg. Polite provisions, false idol etc.) The drinks were served in plastic cups and there was only one server working, so I think overall maybe this bar is not getting the funding it used to to...

The service was disorganized: The drinks were good atmosphere was nice: the place wasn't crowded even for a Saturday night. We had a bartender with greying dreads. Seems like a nice guy. We opened a tab and had four drinks between 3 people.

The point of opening a tab is that when you tell the bartender you want to close out: they already have the card, they close it out real quick.

Our bartender acknowledged us when we asked to close. Came over when two people arrived. Acknowledged someone wanted to close. The people pointed to us. He took their orders and mixed all their drinks (4-5 total) making several trips to keep up the bar. Came back to us and our empty glasses (bussed them) then helped the guy next to us. We asked again and he said, "you're next." (We were first). Took over 15 minutes just to close us out. Had to ask our lyft driver to circle during traffic because ten minutes wasnt enough time.

Still tipped. Not good...

I'm giving it 1 star because I cannot give zero stars. We were hoping for a quick drink and casual atmosphere. This seemed like a good place. Rooftop overlooking Petco Park? Sounds like a great idea! NOT! There was only 1 girl bartender tonight however I've seen bartenders with more people be more attemptive. We were standing at the bar for about 15 minutes, just standing there. It started feeling like we were being ignored. My husband the only dark tall Mexican there was COMPLETELY ignored by the girl in the picture. A bridal party arrived and they stood right next to us and homegirl went straight to them and greeted them. So we were not in a bad spot, she obviously acknowledged the newcommers, but ignored us. We felt out of place. We were ignored. Thats why locals are not going downtown anymore. Save your money and headaches and go to Little Italy. Pay more and get...

We stopped for one beer after the padres and was handed this bill and was absolutely shocked… when I asked about it she said yeah that’s for the 20 Oz beers … looked at the cup and said doesn’t seem right but whatever and didn’t make a big deal about it - my curiosity said they were wrong so I took it home to measure - clearly not 20 Oz after measurements. Two stars because at least the beer I had was decent. But 13.50$ for a 16-17oz beer is highway robbery. Literally will not be going again.

It's a hidden spot that's nestled deep into the abyss that is Petco Park! I don't expect amazing food since it is a cocktail bar first, but I really enjoyed the atmosphere that overlooks Petco and the concert venue/watch party in the distance. Pre-game, during the game if you don't have a ticket, or post-game a hole in the wall shot you should check out before you leave SD.
