They will make your life a living hell when you try to cancel their contract. Customer service for membership is horrible!! During Maria lots of member try to cancled but still have to prove their change of address by the first bill with their name on it ( that would take 1 to 2 months after you move) then when shown the proof you will have to wait for 30 to 45 days to process it. If you cancel prior the end of your contract they will charge you 50% of the remaining months regardless of relocation bc of natural disaster.
As for my wife's experience she have to go to a lawyer and get an affidavit to cancel her contract on March 2017. And the whole process took over 2 months even though she show them that she got accepted to new school, and a one way flight.
As for me I'm moving on january and it also took me 2 months to cancled my contract and they made it very difficult. It was for work and I have shown them the signed documents. They still have me trouble and asked for 1 or 2 sources of my address change and bills w my name on it. How do I have a bill if I haven't move yet? Anyway we argued back and forth that my contract end on December and 1 months ahead notice is significant. To them it wasn't and still hold me for 2 months.
For my friend today 12/27/18 they tried to charge her an over fee draft on her gift card (25$) and service fee (10$). I tried to tell them that it's a gift card she used bc she is an international student and don't have a SSN to open up a CC. And for gift card you can't reload additional money, just have to get new card. The reloadable one from supermax and Walgreen both required SSN. So the gift card by design doesn't have overdraft fee. Bc it is protected and let you only use the balance of what it have or else it will just decline the charge.
As a note the 80$ month to month is actually 3 month contract. And yes you are subjected to the same head aches when canceling. They automatically enrolled you. You have 30 to tell them to cancled it and they will take 30 to 45 days (sweet time for a small gym).
We are consumer and have many options in gym, but this is the worst by far. It's all about relationship. I got a choice of going to a 10$ planet fitness gym for their free weight or pay for the 80$+ gym. The $ for most doesn't matter they care about if cleanliness, crowd size and mostly an atmosphere that include good customer service even w the membership end.

After cancelling my membership six months ago, I was still receiving charges for every month to my credit card, and came to the club in Guaynabo (San Patricio) to find out why I was still receiving the same montly charges and was receiving late fees when I had already spoken to the one of the reprepesentatives who offered me the membership when I had first signed up about a year ago and had submitted the form about the cancellation to them a long time ago. One of the managers named Sasha left me outside waiting for 25 minutes because she was too busy talking on the phone. After a long wait, I came inside to her office and explained to her the situation. She refused to refund me for the charges that had been made to me after I cancelled my membership 6 months ago, claimed that they dont have anything on file at all, and said that it was not their fault, and it gets even better, she wanted to keep charging for the following month because she said that it was their policy, after it is all their mistake. What kind of gym would have the adacity to tell you that it is your fault that they are not organized?, what kind of manager would be so rude to her members and give me an attitude that she wont allow me to speak to any other representive because she is the one who is right and not me?, what kind of manager would leave you standing 25 minutes outside while she was too busy talking on the phone (the reprensentative on the front desk had to call her three times before she called me inside). It is such a shame how bad management can ruin a business. I can't believe how they can make you so many offers to be part of their membership club, but the customer service and respect is ZERO. Read moreBEWARE I cancelled my membership January 16 2019. I have the email confirming the cancellation. Before the billing cycle ended on the 24th. I was told by the account manager that I would not get charged the next month and I would not continue to get charged. It is now February 1st 2019 and I just received another bill from this gym. I will edit this post if this error gets fixed in a timely manner because I understand mistakes do happen. But in the meantime I hope people read reviews before going to a new place because I know I do.
Update 02/04/2019 Called and spoke to a manager. She said that I would receive a reinbursment on my account in the next 10 days. I will keep updating throughout the process.
Update 03/01/2019 There has been no reinbursment issued to my account. There is now a new charge for 115$ I called and I spoke with Sylvia. She told me the same thing again, I would get a reinbursment now for the past 2 charges and it would take 10 business days. I will continue to warn as many people as I can about this gym and money trap until I have been reimbursed for the amount that was taken from me.
