Was visiting Santa Barbara in the past year. Found confusing parking signs in residential areas. Very difficult to know if one is parking correctly. I inadvertently park on the wrong side of the street and receive a $ 48.00 ticket which I pay. The City of Santa Barbara then mistakenly places another $ 48.00 lien on my DMV Registration. I write the City of Santa Barbara and do not get a response. The DMV will not let me renew my vehicle without paying the $ 48.00 lien. I have to pay the $ 48.00 fine two times with zero reimbursement. I am the victim of insufficient signage and inefficient bureaucrats at City Hall. This plus the fact that there are 60 vacancies in downtown Santa Barbara, aggressive homeless people and the smell of urine on the streets. I don't get a warm and fuzzy vibe from Santa Barbara, and don't recommend tourists go there and spend hard earned dollars. Zero stars if it were available. Save your time and...

It wasn’t too far from Los Angeles, by car just taking two hours, however the weather wasn’t favorable making it less to not impressive at all. Even though we were unable to get to feel this summer palace, for example swimming in the ocean, hiking around or just having a quiet sunbath, this city hall still grabbed our attention for its classic and well-lit atmosphere attracting people to take wedding photos, picnic, walk to the roof for the city view and so on. The view, in detail, will obviously blow your mind especially in a sunny day with ample lighting at which you are able to spot the magic blend of nature and human civilization.
