Cashless BS. Cash is a federal currency that is recognized as legal tender by the government, and businesses are obligated to accept it as payment for goods and services. Refusing to accept cash could violate the legal rights of consumers and raise concerns over the potential for discrimination or unfair business practices.
In conclusion, while cashless transactions may have some benefits, businesses should consider the potential impact on customers, especially those who may not have access to or prefer to use alternative payment methods. Any policies that exclude or discriminate against certain segments of society could lead to negative consequences, both for the business and society as a whole.
In the United States, cash is recognized as legal tender for all debts, public and private, under the Coinage Act of 1965. This means that businesses are legally required to accept cash as a form of payment for goods and services. However, there are some exceptions to this rule, such as when a particular business is explicitly cashless or when the transaction is for a high-value item like a car or a house.
If a business does not accept cash, it can have a detrimental effect on society in several ways. Firstly, it can create a barrier for people who do not have access to credit or debit cards or who prefer to pay with cash. This includes low-income individuals, elderly people who may not be comfortable with digital payment methods, and those who are unbanked or underbanked. By refusing to accept cash, businesses are essentially discriminating against these groups of people and limiting their ability to participate in the economy.
Secondly, cashless transactions can be more vulnerable to cyber fraud and hacking, which can put sensitive customer data at risk. This can lead to identity theft, financial losses, and other negative consequences.
Finally, cashless transactions can also worsen the problem of economic inequality by further marginalizing low-income communities and exacerbating the digital divide. This can lead to a situation where only those with access to technology and digital payment methods are able to participate fully in the economy, while others are left behind.
In conclusion, while businesses may have valid reasons for not accepting cash, it is legally required for them to do so in most cases. Furthermore, refusing to accept cash can have negative consequences for society, including creating barriers for certain groups of people, increasing the risk of fraud and cybercrime, and exacerbating...
Read moreI ordered a burger from here and scheduled a specific time to pick it up. As I was on my way to get the burger (20 minutes away) I received a text stating that the burger was ready. I tried to call but there was no number available. When I arrived I explained to the cashier that I had received a message about my burger being ready 20 minutes prior and I was concerned about my burger being cold and I didn't want a cold burger. I explained that I tried to call to inform them but there was no number. She informed me that when the order comes in they make it. She found my burger and the box was cold. I asked her when it was made since I requested a certain pick up time so my food wouldn't be cold. She told me it was made when I ordered it and walked away. She started loudly talking badly about me and the fact that I was upset about my burger. I said excuse me and she started yelling for the manager. The manager came over and I explained to him the situation and that it was my first time trying and I didn't want a cold burger. He stated he would make me a fresh burger with no problem. I told him about the rude experience that I had just had with the cashier and he ignored it and said the burger would be right. The female cashier continued to bash me to her co-workers. A male co-worker was making orders for customers while not wearing gloves and was also eating French fries over customer's orders as he was making them. The manager came out and get me my burger and apologized for it being cold. He explained that their system has an issue where it sends them the burger order as soon as you place it and doesn't honor the pick-up time. He stated that it's best to put the pick-up time in the special request box. I explained to him that being a new customer I wouldn't have known that and it's even more reason for his casher to not be rude to me and she needs customer service training. He again brushed it off. I normally try new restaurants then come back with a group, however I won't be coming back here. The burger was decent but I can find amazing burgers and amazing customer service elsewhere so I'll spend my money at...
Read moreSo I finally had a chance to stop at heavy handed tonight on my way home from work. I’ve been looking forward to trying this place for a while and really love their hip hop aesthetic. The food however, wasn’t matching up to the hype.
Let’s start with the good.
FRIES; 9/10.
I got the fries heavy style, and they were packing some heavy flavor. Perahaps the problem was I tried these delicious fries before trying the burger, because they were amazing. A flavor explosion. The cheese was a nice consistency, not too stiff, giving the fries a good coating. The caramelized onions cooked perfectly. Even the sauce on these fries packed a good punch. I even loved the slices of pickle which I was initially bemused about. Couldn’t really be happier with these.
BURGER; 5/10
This is the real issue here for me. The meat was incredibly bland. Like, flavorless. Did they forget the salt? What about all that delicious sauce on the fries? Did I somehow mistakenly ask for a plain burger? No. This burger is simply a disappointment. The meat may be quality but when you forget to season it that doesn’t matter much. The bun was also paper thin and didn’t hold up very well or do a good job soaking up any flavor from the patty. Mostly because the party almost lacked that entirely. For a double, this burger was mighty skimpy on the meat.
DIPPED CONE; 7/10
Standard soft serve ice cream. I got the butterscotch dip. It wasn’t half bad! I enjoyed the flavor, even if the coating was a bit thin.
SOFT DRINK; 1/10
This typically isn’t a consideration for my food reviews, but someone needed to change the syrup on the sodas out an hour prior to me pouring myself a drink. The Dr Pepper was basically water, and when I changed it out for coke the coke was 75% better but also not all there. I was surprised, there were a lot of customers besides me, maybe the multitude of beers on offer filled my fellow diners senses. Whatever the case, they need to fix the soft drink situation.
So that was heavy handed! Surprisingly light on flavor.
I might give it a second shot, maybe I just...
