We visited Savannah for my birthday in April and wandered into this gallery just to check out the antique furniture. Vincent Golshani, the artist of the stunning art hanging around the gallery, was in-house and very accomodating. Yes, he is European and his demeanor may come across to Southerners as rude or callous but as a Southerner myself, I could acknowledge that and didnt feel he was ever rude, dismissive, or anything other than kind to us. We didnt plan to buy anything but he was helpful, spent time telling us about his art, showing us his books, and even offering us something to drink. We confirmed him as an artist online and checked sales prices on some of his pieces before deciding to spring for Sunrise Park, a particularly beautiful piece that spoke to us. Vincent gave us a history of the painting, where he got the idea, and even autographed one of his books for us that he gave us at no charge! Throughout our visit, we didnt feel dismissed, conned, used, upsold, or mistreated so Im not sure why reviews make those claims. I encourage anyone reading this to experience it yourself before making snap decisions based on a few negative reviews. His artwork is expensive, but well worth it as investment pieces. Note: this isnt a shop to bring small children or unruly teenagers into! ...
Read moreThis establishment looked very nice inside and the artwork was amazing. HOWEVER, they were being very pushy, we’re following me and my family almost the entire time and the artist kept kissing and caressing my 2 year old. Unfortunately this ruined our whole shopping experience and we returned our purchase.
In response to the owner’s message: I’m not speaking for everyone that left you a nice letter, I am speaking for myself and my personal experience. If I had a complaint about the “free book” or “the 5 figure painting for less than $1000” then I would’ve included that in the review. So I would appreciate if that wasn’t thrown in my face. There is a difference between “paying attention to a customer” and being way too pushy. At this point I don’t really care about that. What concerns me the most is that so many people (strangers) like you for example, think they have the right to kiss, touch and caress my child without permission from me or my husband. No, I didn’t complain when you gave my daughter a nature valley bar when we first got there because she loves them. CONSTANTLY KISSING AND CARESSING MY CHILD afterward crossed the line. As a mother it made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Take some accountability. Like I said before, your art is beautiful but the whole experience was RUINED...
Read moreJeremy and I visited Vincent Golshani at his gallery and antique store in Savannah for the first time in 2016. We not only fell in love with his beautiful art but we also fell in love with the painter! We were honored to purchase a beautiful piece called Coming Home which we haved proudly displayed in our homes since purchasing. On our visit in April 2023, we decided to stop by and visit Vincent and look at his art, hoping to bring home a piece or two. I poked my head in Vincent's office, he not only remembered us, he remembered what he wrote in his book he gave us. We bought Butterflies and River Dance this time and heard the stories , from Vincent, about what inspired these pieces. Vincent is a kind and passionate man who has blessed us and the world with beautiful art. Thank you Vincent for your kindness. You will forever be a part of our lives. Love ya! D&J
