I am extremely DISAPPOINTED with my experience at Chart House in Savannah. This was our only night in the city, and my family and I wanted to celebrate my mother’s birthday. We arrived last minute, around 7:30 PM, and were pleasantly greeted by the hostess, who quickly seated us. We were excited since the reviews looked great and my kids were hungry. We placed our drink and food orders quickly at around 7:45. My daughter ordered chicken tenders, my son ordered grilled salmon, and my husband and I both ordered the miso sake glazed black cod. By 8:05, we still hadn’t received bread or drinks. They eventually came out at 8:07 but all were very watered down. Bread was served soon after, but the real issue began when I asked at 8:30 where the kids’ meals were. Our waitress came back with no update. I then asked another waitress, who went to check—but instead of returning to answer me, she walked right past our table and completely ignored me. At 8:45 I had to speak with the hostess downstairs. The kids’ food finally arrived by 8:50, followed by our meals. While the food itself was delicious, the long wait and complete lack of communication ruined the entire experience. The kids were starving, and by the time their food came, they barely ate. My daughter filled up on bread and water, and my son’s fish was dry and unappealing to him. To make things worse, my mom had ordered the lava cake when we placed our dinner order (as the menu requires 30 minutes’ notice) and specified three times that she only wanted one portion. When the manager came to apologize for the delays, he incorrectly claimed we ordered two. He offered the cake “on the house” because of the late food—something most restaurants do automatically for birthdays without all these issues. Are you kidding me!?!? The cake arrived undercooked, and my mom didn’t even enjoy it. The biggest problem wasn’t just the delay, it was the complete LACK of communication and attentiveness from the staff. NO updates, NO acknowledgment unless I chased them down. Even then the staff ignored me. Even the Manager was a let down. For a place with such a good reputation, this was a huge disappointment. It wasn’t even on a weekend, it was a WEDNESDAY night…. If the kitchen was short-staffed or behind, just tell us so we can plan accordingly. I understand things happen, but the first step is always communication. I WILL NOT...
Read moreMy husband and I had 9 pm reservations for the Chart House. We sat immediately and were greeted by a young, friendly waiter. She was the most pleasant part of this whole experience. The drinks were 2/10. I ordered a Margarita (standard taste) and my husband, an espresso martini. Apparently, they add lemon to the martini which tasted very strange and we asked for another, holding the lemon. The lemon espresso was taken away and we would not see another like it for at least 30 min. I did order a glass of Rose' that was fairly standard.
What we ordered Spinach and artichoke dip- 3/10 the chips were STALE. Crabbed stuffed Shrimp-5/10 tasted "fishy" Glazed Salmon- 0/10 THE SALMON WAS UNDERCOOKED
Aside from my plate being extremely hot and the salmon under room temp, I noticed that the taste of the salmon was 'off.' But, the restaurant is so dimly lit, that one would not immediately notice any errors in the dish. After bringing out my handy dandy flashlight, I saw that the salmon was indeed cold and undercooked which was also confirmed by our waiter. It was clear that the waiter did not know how to proceed but took my plate and offered me another dish or dessert. She also stated that the kitchen is "getting lazy" because it is the end of the night. This was very interesting information, and as to not further upset the kitchen by making them cook up additional food, I declined her offer and picked at my husband's plate unenthused. The waiter came back several times asking if I was "sure" that I didn't want anything else and offered sentiments from her manager who we saw turning glasses over at a table right next to ours.
The manager, or who I assumed to be the manager, blonde, curly hair, glasses, a frustrated look...NEVER spoke to us despite being right next to us, flipping glasses over in prep for the next day for several minutes.
The drink and salmon dinner was comped but somehow our bill was still over $100 and we still managed to tip because we are decent human beings. This was by far one of the worse experiences I have ever had. I left the restaurant hangry and confused. Oh, I also forgot to mention that once the kitchen got wind of our disappointment, we got some dirty looks as they randomly entered and exited the kitchen area. Overall, terrible food and piss poor customer service provided by...
Read moreI called to set up my reservation with Tera over the phone. She was very pleasant & courteous. She asked if we were celebrating anything and I told her it was our anniversary and she was thrilled for us!😁 We arrived at the Hostess stand for our table. I asked the hostess if she was Tera & she said no, she was Morgan. I apologized and said "Hello Morgan." She replied, "Hello to you two & happy anniversary. Her personality was very dry and very docile. Definitely the opposite of Tera, whom I placed my reservation with over the phone. Almost as if she wasn't thrilled to be there. Very luke warm personality.🤷🏽♀️ We were sat at a quiet table in the back of the restaurant's main level in front of the T.V. which was perfect for us since my Hubby wanted to watch the upcoming Lakers game. He asked our server, Clifford if he could change the channel to the game. Since we were the only table seated in this section of the restaurant, he happily obliged & Hubby was thrilled. We both ordered the course meal. Hubby got a chopped salad, prime rib with mashed potatoes and I got the caesar salad and the salmon with rice. We both got the chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream topped with crushed heath pieces and it was fantastic. I'm pregnant so no alcohol for me but I loved that they had a zero alcohol beverage menu. So I ordered a peach palmer and hot tea. My Hubby had a mango mojito which he enjoyed. From our understanding, the spinach chopped salad comes with bacon and a warm bacon dressing; However, they mistakingly put bacon in my Hubby's regular chopped salad and the warm bacon dressing on his salad also. Being that we don't eat pork, we sent it back. Clifford said that they add this dressing by "default" but since we're picky eaters, we reviewed the menu in advance and even looked again after the discovery and saw that the menu stated that their regular chopped salad came with a balsamic vinagarette. Minor mixup that didn't ruin our night. Overall, Clifford was pleasant, kind and attentive. We enjoyed our time there and would recommend this place. We'll go back there again in the future. Maybe next year's anniversary. Thanks for a fine...
