Earthbound Trading Co. — Local services in Savannah

So, yesterday I came to discover this wonderful place with lots of amazing stuff at Oglethorpe Mall here in Savannah, GA. Unfortunately, I won’t be coming back.

Me and my friends were fascinated with the Himalayan Rocks. As we entered the store I found several more cool stuffs. And as I love writing, I couldn’t help but purchase a lovely notebook.

It was the last stock, as per the associates there. So I don’t have a choice, it was the one I liked, and so even it has been folded a bit at the edge because of the strap, I bought it. They offered me a 10% damage discount.

$19.95 was the original price. I don’t know if the cashier thought I was stupid, but she said to me, “After the discount, it’s $19.95” and I thought, wasn’t that the original price?

I liked the notebook so I thought I wouldn’t bother to complain, plus the other staff seems so nice. I said “yeah, okay.”

I asked for a receipt, which she didn’t gave me at first. Then she tuck it inside the plastic bag. When we were on our way home, I checked the receipt, and well it wasn’t mine.

The point is.. why would anyone go to lengths to take advantage? I mean if you don’t have a discount for me, I would understand I would just like my stuff. But you got to talk.

The receipt was the last straw. I hated that store now. Plus the first page fell off. It was torn before hand as you can see in the picture and was tucked in.

Be careful when you are there. Some may be nice but the others...

Earth Bound is my husband’s favorite store. He has spent hundreds of $$ at Panama City Beach location as we was a lifeguard there. We’ve moved and unfortunately don’t have one by us any longer. He’s waited two years to shop at one. We stopped in Savannah to go to this one on our way back home from vacation at Jekyll Island. We have been vaccinated and state regulations have now changed that if you’ve been vaccinated that you don’t need a mask so we haven’t needed a mask to enter any stores our entire vacation and all down the River St in Savannah for all the places we entered. We had to park across the city and walk to the shops as all the parking was taken. We among about 7 other shoppers didn’t have masks on. I was approached by an employee asking if we had masks. We told her we didn’t. She said they don’t have any disposable masks to use to shop there but we’re welcome to purchase two or leave if we’d like. I asked my husband what he wanted to do. As we’re vaccinated and no other stores no longer care my husband chose to leave.

The Savannah location made me feel so uncomfortable. I went on a day trip to Savannah for my daughters bday weekend. We stopped at Earthbound since we had just found out there was one there. The employees were following us around didn’t ask if they could help, instead they were asking us about what we were carrying. I hate that this happened because I had to compose myself to not flip out. Towards the end one of the employees was asking me about my tri color fanny pack and how I can carry so much in it. I say this so that they may remember who I am. Myself and the kids I had with me wouldn’t take from a store like Earthbound, we had just spent money at a local shop who deserved it! We left everything and did not purchase anything from this location. I really wanted to show the employees all I was carrying so that they could feel stupid. I worked in retail a long time and I know when someone is following because they think we stole. I did not take anything and want the employees to know that I will not be returning to...
