The coffee was great unfortunately the service was not. My wife and went to this location Fri morning Jan 5. Someone at a cookie store recommended it and I thought the name sounded familiar. I thought it was a veteran owned company I saw on the news a couple of years ago and it was. I'm an Army veteran and I'm always in the mood to support vets but we received the coldest reception from the staff that morning. They might as well have a sign that said "whites only". I didn't grow up in the south and there's alot about maltreatment from white people that I have never experienced however my is a southerner and she said she felt it right away! When we came in it seemed like they went out of their way not to engage with us at all. We're walking around looking at T-shirts and wandered over to the Nine Line side.....same exact treatment. Not a word was said to us. It was like we were invisible. Needless to say we won't be patronizing BR or Nine Line ever again. The coffee was good but this is not a place that wants black people in their establishment. I cannot speak to the entire company but those individuals at that location on that morning definitely have some anti-black sentiment. Let this be a warning to my fellow black vets and black people in general... DO NOT GO HERE OR BUY NINE LINE PRODUCTS. I threw all my nine line stuff out! Get over it! This is our home, black Americans aren't immigrants and we're not going...
Read moreThe coffee was so good I went back twice within a few hours. I tried other coffee in Savannah at a few places and to say they went unfinished by me would be an understatement. And typically I will drink anything coffee related. Iced and hot coffee and lattes were great here. We had some of their hocus pocus themed drinks and they were delicious. The Lemonade is a bit on the tart side. We didn't get to try their chai because they had ran out. If you want beans or grounds they have a nice display with a book that has general flavor descriptions. As we have to drive a couple hours to get here we naturally bought a few bags. So far all of them make up at home in our espresso and cold brew machines beautifully. They have a wonderful smooth taste no bitter bite, the nutty flavor you get in coffee is a lot smoother and less pow, and playing around with it its hard to get it to even be watery if you use less grounds you'd have to make an Americano or let your ice melt like crazy before drinking (I really like experimenting with different coffees and trying how they taste made...
Read moreWent here on a weekday, visiting from New Hampshire, stayed pretty close within walking distance and wanted to try a local brew. The streets were quiet and I arrived here the store was pretty busy. Lots of customers waiting for their orders and lots in line. Everyone looked like a tourist, not locals. The staff were pretty cold. One review here was about racism, however I just think the staff here suck at customer service. I’m a young white female and the cashier didn’t greet me, I had to start my order with a hello, she took the order - not saying a word, turned her back to me for a solid 2 minutes writing on cups, turned around and I said “do you take cash?” And she said yes, told me my price and then turned and walked away. No polite exchange or anything. Then I heard her say to the barista making drinks “that’s a (insert coffee name type) I didn’t get a name” where almost everyone else had names on their coffees. Like she did it on purpose. The clothing girl also very unfriendly and looked like she wanted to be anywhere else. Not very friendly...
