Won't be going back! Went on 3/27 to help a friend celebrate his birthday. Trying to get someone, anyone to wait on us was rediculous! This was approximately 7pm. The server was NOT knowledgeable about the types of alcohol stocked. My husband asked if she had Remy..she said No and shoved a soiled menu at him, stating it would take too long for her to answer everything he asked for. The pricing was not visible in several spots on the menu. He finally asked if they had Hennessey..she said yes. We ordered and it took 25 minutes to get our drinks. Our mistake was NOT asking for a better menu but the server's error was not informing us that Hennessey was 77$ per shot. He asked her to pay her when she brought the watered down, mostly ice Hennessey and cranberry and she said she'd be back. After another 30 minutes, had a different server show up, took our order and asked to have the bill when she returned. She NEVER came back..no drinks, no bill. Others in our group ordered food..it came but there was no silverware. The girl who brought our friend's food took our drink orders yet again. People in silverwareour party ordered food but got no silverware and asked for salt & pepper. 25 minutes later the silverware showed up. Finally, we asked for the manager..told her we wanted our bill, mine and my husband's. She came back with the entire party of 8 bill and handed it huto my husband 26 minutes later. At no time were we asked if we wanted to run a tab or if we wanted separate checks We complained to the manager about the service and her pat answer was " we're short handed" . This is not my problem!. And if I'm ordering 77$ drinks I'd think they would've been on top of their game to keep us satisfied. By the way, we had already separated out the bill when the salt & pepper arrived. We noticed that other parties, seated long after us were waited on and got their orders usually within 10-15 min!! I'm not one to play the "race card" but we were the only party of 'color' in the place and all other patrons were white!! Shady, at best. Our total bill for 2 people was just under 400$ which we paid but y'all need to do much better than this !!! And when you price out 750ml bottle of Hennessey Gold, at approx 200$..there should be 16 shots 8n that bottle. How'd y'all come up with...

A Very Disappointing Experience at Myrtle & Rose Rooftop Bar

Myrtle & Rose Rooftop Bar, touted as a lush rooftop garden and bar at JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District, fell woefully short of expectations. We booked brunch well in advance, providing our credit card information to secure the reservation. Unfortunately, the rainy weather set the tone for a dismal experience marked by poor service, ineffective management, and blatant disregard for our concerns.

Upon arrival, we were seated at the bar due to the drizzle. After a lengthy wait, we discovered our payment was merely a "hold" to ensure our attendance. Our waitress and kitchen staff seemed disinterested and distracted, bickering over who should serve us. We were sternly instructed not to accept plates from the kitchen staff.

The promised extraordinary brunch and mimosas vanished, replaced by a lackluster menu and expensive cocktails.

Our dishes arrived sporadically, with two coming out significantly later than the others. Requested bread arrived after we finished our meal, despite multiple requests. To add insult, it was slathered in rancid butter, more suited to a low-end diner than a high-end establishment.

These and numerous other mishaps made for a woefully inadequate experience. $270 for an egg on ham, a drink, and abysmal service was unacceptable. If they can't handle a little rain, perhaps they shouldn't operate.

Hopefully, management at M&R will address these issues for the next time it rains.

Traveler Advice

Came here for views, vibes, and drinks after dinner for one of my best friend's bachelorette party! Myrtle and Rose delivered on all fronts.

We did have a little bit of trouble finding this place but that definitely could've been because of how late it was. Eventually, we found our way in. We were carded at the door by a pleasant gentleman and then took the elevator all the way up!

There's a spacious and open-air roofed "inside" where the bar is, but of course we came for the rooftop views! It was sadly too dark to see super well, but we still enjoyed the breeze and the night air. It was decently busy but the space still felt intimate and it wasn't hard to hear each other talk, which was fantastic. The rose garden vibe was absolutely perfect for a bachelorette and the light was still good enough for all our photo op needs. :)

Our server was so nice and was on top of all our needs. I expected to have to go to the bar to order but she brought multiple rounds of drinks out to us. I'm not a heavy drinker so I only had one drink, but I enjoyed mine: the Ginger Lily. Rosé, passion fruit, ginger ale. It was sweet (like I wanted), fruity, and fizzy! Really my only complaint is I saw a drink on their online menu that they sadly don't make anymore, but I was ultimately quite content with what I had. Everyone else seemed happy with their order too. We stayed till close (got out about 10 minutes prior to it, but yeah) and no one was rude about us hanging out, which I guess you'd expect since we weren't doing anything wrong, but was still really nice.

Can't speak to food obviously as we were stuffed from dinner, but insofar as drinks, service, and experience goes, can't ask for much more! ...

Loved the location and view. Watched a massive barge go by (pretty up close), so that was neat. Appetizers are small plate and delicious. I highly recommend the Brussel Sprouts and the Scallops (yuuuuum). The prosciutto wrapped pear was bland, but its placement on the Brie tried to provide a richness it needed. Perhaps a drizzle of balsamic or something additionally tart to add some dimension is my only suggestion. Service was pretty good. We did, however, watch the bartender simply hand a bar towel to a customer that was sitting in front of the cocktail shakers whose area had a puddle of water. He made absolutely no effort to wipe it up FOR the customer. Rinsing the shakers and then turning them upside down to drain on the bar right in front of patrons is not very strategic. This is a pretty upscale establishment, so the patrons are also dressing accordingly. No one wants to deal with their bar space feeling like a puddle, let alone having to clean it up themselves. (Gave 3 stars for that alone, but otherwise it was a solid 5 on their quick, friendly, attentive service. The puddle mess was simply a huge miss, and it wasn't even our mess to clean up.) Cocktails and wine averaged $16-20, which is comparable to all nicer establishments in Savannah. Very busy bar service. We'd definitely revisit this establishment again. Very romantic experience for couples. Lively and with live music. The back side of the bar is on River Street and a great place for a quick snapshot of the area.

Crazy experience here, and I never give out one star reviews, but this felt necessary. My mother and I were walking down the street looking for a rooftop bar to stop in, we walked up to the bouncer and asked him if this was a rooftop bar and he looked us up and down and said “it’s reservation only.” I was so confused because I read online that you can make a reservation, but you didn’t need one, but we kept walking. On our way back down the street we walked into the hotel that sits at the base of the rooftop bar and I asked the Bell man if the rooftop bar is reservation only. He replied “ no, you’re welcome to go up and see if they have availability! The entrance is right around the corner!” so my mother and I walk back to the bouncer who denied us originally and he said “sorry we-“ then i interrupted and told him we had a reservation and he let us in the door. We took the elevator up to the top floor, where I told the hostess that we were a party of two without a reservation looking for a table and she seated us. I was so confused as to why the first bouncer had turned us away. We had not interacted with him previously, and I could have sworn it was based on the way we looked, maybe we didnt seem like fun people Im not sure, but for this reason, I would never return here.
