Lady Neptune Hair Salon, Seattle — Attraction in Seattle

Reader, I will put it to you this way. Because of work, for 2.5 years now, I have been spending a significant amount of my time overseas. As such, because I can’t always predict when I’m going to be back in Seattle, I have been trying to find a Rebecca alternative out of town to cut my hair. I have done my homework, and I’ve visited some top-rated salons in Amsterdam. In other words, against my will, I have genuinely tried to break up with this woman. In the 2.5 years that I have been going elsewhere, invariably I will end up back in Rebecca‘s chair at Lady Neptune asking her to fix what the other stylists cut. Much to my relief, my delight and my total inconvenience, this absolute rock star alwaaaays fixes it. She always listens to me. She intimately understands the particular set of crazy hair challenges growing out of this head (fine hair, but lots of it, wavy underneath, but straight on the top, ever changing and totally inconsistent hair texture from visit to visit — thanks hormones!, —completely crooked widow’s peak / hairline, the list goes on…).

TL;DR… whether I live 5 miles away or 5000, I have finally come to accept that the solution here really is to just surrender to the fact that this goddess is my ride-or-die stylist.

If you’ve ever found yourself in a pretentious salon that made you feel more like an extra in Mean Girls than a paying client looking for a decent haircut, then you’ll know how wonderful (and rare) it is when you find the exact opposite of that vibe AAAANNNND some seriously rock solid stylist chops too. As the name so rightly suggests, Lady Neptune is as otherworldly special as the unicorn stylists who make it so. Because of the uniquely warm and welcoming culture that Rebecca has built herself, brick by sparkly brick, sitting in a Lady Neptune chair means you will be listened to, cared for, respected, and even treasured. When you throw in the cutting/styling A-game these folks always always bring, you can easily understand why my advice to you would be to grab a spot in one of those chairs early...

If you are looking for a new hairstylist (or even if you’re not) check out Adler at Lady Neptune Salon. After many negative experiences with other hairstylists, I was nervous to my hair cut again. Adler made me feel so comfortable from the moment I walked in the door. Adler not only is a talented hairstylist but she also always listens to my personal style. She is very knowledgeable about what styles work well for my hair and also always makes sure the end result is how imagined it or even better. You can also expect to be spoiled throughout your entire appointment and you will be pampered with a full spa-like experience. Some stylists have been so rough with my tangles but Adler is so gentle when washing, combing and styling my hair. Adler also gives the best neck massages!! Better than any massage I have ever had! Adler is one of the kindest people I have ever met. She loves her job and it shows but she also loves her clients. She is a great listener and will laugh with you or cry with you or support you or motivate you. It was really nerve racking when I moved to a new state and had to start from scratch to find a new hair stylist. For me, it was never REALLY about the haircut although if it's exceptional that's a BONUS. What I looked for in a hairstylist was someone who saw me before they saw my hair and as a by product gave me exactly what I wanted and maybe sometimes needed. After searching the entirety of all social media platforms (cause who doesn't love to see real time pics and videos of stylists) and FINALLY stumbling upon Rebecca she changed my life. LITERALLY. She opened my eyes to the multiverse of hair and all that it could be. Her intuitive sense and her tangible ability to really shape hair in a way that's dynamic yet effortlessly beautiful is beyond me. The styles and cuts that we have done in a little over the year of seeing her have ALWAYS been amazing. She has really allowed me to become more expressive through another medium.
