  • be ware: this restaurant actively practices discrimination and violates the law *

Context: I am blind and have a guide dog (yellow lab). I came here to have lunch with 2 friends on Sunday. After we were already sitting, one of the workers approached us and told us that dogs were not allowed inside. I explained that my dog was a guide dog and protected by law. She *Specifically stated * that she understood it was a service dog, but that the owner would still not allow it. I again explained that it was illegal not to allow service dogs, and she kept saying I’m sorry but it still wasn’t allowed. She then told me that it was fine this time but to not come back with the dog, which essentially means I was banned from the restaurant for being blind.

My friends later said the worker looked very apologetic and kept texting on her phone while asking us to leave, but said the owner wasn’t here, which makes me think the owner was watching through the security cameras. At best, this restaurant does not train its staff on their legal obligations. At worst, they know the law but actively choose to discriminate anyway, which makes me think is what was happening given that they explicitly said that even if my dog was a service dog, it was still not allowed.

I would have left (I am not going to stay somewhere where I am not welcome) but we were already eating with food on the table, and I didn’t want to ask my friends to give up the food they had paid for already.

And for the record, my dog clearly has a harness, and was calmly lying by my feet not doing anything while we ate, so there was no behavior issue.

By law, a business is allowed to ask only 2 questions: If the service dog is required because of a disability and What tasks the dog is trained to perform.

Anything else is discrimination.

It’s 2024 in Seattle and apparently it is still acceptable to ask a customer with a disability not only to leave, but to not come back. Just know what you are supporting if...

I ordered the #2 plate “kofta” kabab plate, with Greek fries to go. It comes with a salad, pita bread, hummus, rice, and the kofta meat. I got a completely different kind of meat, and extremely small “salad” with no lettuce, onion, or anything at all but a little bit of diced cucumbers and diced tomato. No pita bread at all. When I ordered I got the sense they had a weird attitude towards me. Once I opened the bag/boxes I realized my order was wrong. I let them know, 2 of the girls where very weird about it while one tried to be helpful but they all told me the meat I ordered wasn’t available, which wasn’t said previously, and still didn’t answer why I didn’t receive the other items. After repeatedly telling them, they clearly did not want to fix my order, I said I just wanted an actual salad and pita bread I paid for. One of them that was helpful finally took the plate back to be fixed. The cook then pushed the plate back at me and stormed off like I completely inconvenienced her, all she did was add a little bit of the lettuce and onion, and gave me pita bread. They didn’t even have to remake anything. Overall the customer service was terrible, except one of them. The meat and rice was mid at best, I will say the rest was good, especially the Greek fries. I wasn’t rude at all just honest about the issue, I’m always very polite with service workers but this whole situation was very frustrating. Do not recommend, not worth 30$ before tip either, even if they’d been more accommodating. Definitely spend your money on better quality, if you’re spending 30$ on one...

They have good food but never dine there and never place online order. They have zero understanding of online processes and customer service. I placed order for delivery several times and everytime they either didn't followed the instruction I provide or totally missed one or two items. I placed an order pickup and when I went there to pick up, they said they don't have my order, I showed them the receipt of payment and order details and they said yes it's our restuarant but they don't have my order and they can't make it either because they're closing while it was 40 minutes before they closing time. I asked for supervise and then I found out the supervisor can't speak English at all and the lazy employee start talking Arabic to each other for 5 minutes and in the end they both looked at me like they expected me to understand what is going on and when I said I didn't understand any of they conversation the lazy employee rudely told me there is nothing they can do. So my advice is only go there and order to go and when they handing your food to you, make sure double check your items. Food=good managment and employee = total trash. Also keep in mind they're lying about origin of the food they're serving too. None of them are Arabic except 2 items the rest of them are Persian,...

Great food! The lamb shank plate was simply delicious. Lamb was so tender and juicy, even the rice was so flavorful-full with saffron and some kind of berries. The salad was so refreshing and a wonderful compliment to the lamb, rice and the lamb broth soup. The shawarma sandwich was a bit underwhelming though. It was small and too bready. The filling was not as flavorful-full as I expected. A few options of dipping sauces would've made a lot of difference. We asked for some sauces so they offered hot sauce. I feel the shawarma at Gyro Time in Greenwood is so far my benchmark for good chicken shawarma. The falafel on the side was a great value for money, but the falafels were a bit over fried and the dipping sauce had some stale taste. The restaurant itself was not very well maintained and clean, which is a common pattern that I've seen in Mediterranean restaurants in Seattle. Still looking out for a nice sit-down Mediterranean restaurant that does not have a fast-food cafe vibe, but that of course would jack up the prices a lot.

I've had this place a few times and both times I've just had okay experiences. It's nice this place is close to downtown and open somewhat late but the food overall is what you'd expect from a fast food joint. I got a lamb gyro the first time and half of it was lettuce. The front half was like eating salad with no dressing basically before I got to the meat and other stuff. The gyro overall was very average and tasted average too. The falafels were ok but a little dry. Second time I got a chicken sandwich and it was even more underwhelming. It was wrapped tightly to the size of a hot pocket or churro basically and it was like eating a microwaveable burrito almost. At least this time it wasn't just lettuce. It was also very average in flavor. Felt overpriced for that level of food honestly. Wait times to get your food depends on when you order but it can take some time. Both times the food didn't feel filling at all and I probably won't be eating here again. Only if it's my last resort and nothing else is open.

I really appreciate the fast service here. We came here on a weekday evening ordered 4 dishes and we got it within 10 minutes. They were also really attentive in making sure they got the order correctly and they gave the breakdown receipt upon request as well as an extra bag when we needed one. The food’s also great. I don’t usually like Mediterranean food, but I really like their rice bowls. I got the lamb kebab grill plate and it was delicious. I also like how they put the sauce on the side for the takeout order. The lamb is a little saltier than expected, but it balances out well with the plainer items like the rice, hummus, and the salad. If you get the shawarma just note that it’s small (like smaller than a Chipotle burrito), so if you prefer a larger portion I would definitely order something else. The inside doesn’t feel new, but they have some nice decorations that make it feel Mediterranean, which is nice. They also have plenty of seating on the inside.
