So Disappointed!!! I drove 30 miles down from Flagstaff after calling & arranging to drop my 17" MacBook Pro off for repair. I explained that the audio selection was stuck on Digital Audio Out after I removed a digital audio cord & as a result, I couldn't select the Internal Speakers any longer. I also explained that I was missing a couple of screws from the bottom of the unit and that one of the screws was hanging half out, causing it to scratch any surfaces that I sat it down on. I also had a left speaker that was blown out as well... but, decided not to ask them to replace it at that time. After leaving the unit with Mac Clinic/PC Clinic, I received a phone call from one of their tech reps who inquired as to why I had left the unit with them. I thought that it was weird that they didn't know, but I reminded them of the issues & they asked if they could call me back after they looked into it further. A little while later, I received a call back from the rep who began to explain that I had a blown speaker and that maybe it was related to the issue... so, I asked them to replace it. Some time after, I received another call from the tech rep explaining that they were going to be forced to wipe the computer & reinstall the OS, which I regrettably agreed to as well. Days later, I received another call from a rep explaining that they had completed all the work, (New OS, New Speaker, Repaired Audio Out Selection, New Screws, Etc.) & that I can drive down to pick up the computer at anytime. Again I drove down to their store in Sedona & after paying over $300 & picking up my MacBook Pro, I drove back home only to find that the only thing that they did was install the very earliest of OS's with no updates. They never removed the outer casing of my computer, therefore, they never repaired the speaker or installed new screws. In fact, the screw that was half hanging out was still right where I left it. The worst part, was that I received the unit back with a broken disc drive to boot. As far as I can tell, they must of dropped the unit at some point causing the drive to become damaged, which probably happened while it was being shoved around their shop for those weeks. I ended up going to Best Buy for help. Needless to say, I cancelled the credit card payment & ended up eating two days of travel expenses, as well as a new disc drive. I'd sue, but these kids aren't worth anymore of my valuable time. All I can say is... "Shame on Mac Clinic/PC Clinic!!!" & BUYER BEWARE. What an unprofessional, costly &...
Read moreWhile most of the staff is very helpful, attentive and positive, this display replacement was nothing it should have been, I had a bad experience here.
I ordered / we agreed on replacing my broken MacBook display with a new display. Once the display arrived to the store, I couldn't get an estimate on how long the repair will take (1 hour, 2, 4, 8? 1 day, 2 or 3?). When I got the laptop back, it was dirty (glue from a tape on the outside), and had several scratches on the outside, fingerprints on the screen inside. I got a 5% discount for this, which was fair. I cleaned the display when I got home and noticed that there are scratches on the display/screen inside as well. It had several (at least 10-15) very thin, but long and noticeable scratches, which should not be the case on a new display. When I took it back the next business day and showed the screen to the team, they told me it is a 'refurbished' screen and this is okay. This was the first time I heard the word refurbished, which in no case translates to new. The team denied they said it will be new as they could only order refurbished displays from their vendors, however even on the receipt they stated that they replaced the display with a new one (quote: "...removed broken screen, installed new screen without complications, ...") There is no mentioned on the receipt of 'refurbished' or 'used' or such anywhere. I don't have the order at hand, but I doubt is states refurbished anywhere, and even so, they should have verbally communicated this and emphasized this as well.
So basically I didn't get what I ordered and I paid way too much for a refurbished display based on a simple google search.
They offered to replace it with the original broken part and give me a full refund, but I wasted ~a week already while waiting for the part, then hours driving back and forth to the store, 2 days waiting for the repair, and it'd take a lot again to take it back (with no eta for replacing it again), driving down to Phoenix to the closest Apple Store, etc.
I do not recommend going here for...
Read morebeing this being the closest apple repair center I left feeling very upset with how capable their technicians truly are. I entered with a known problem of a keyboard issue, which I did not wish to pay for a diagnosis seeing as I knew exactly what needed to be done, which is replace the keyboard entirely, and surprisingly enough the keyboard can be replaced without any added parts involved. then I get slapped with a 1k dollar quote, which to I immediately decline repair and ask for part numbers. a repair that costs over 2/3s the retail price of a laptop? I laughed at that immediately. given this, I looked into the price of the parts, roughly 600 bucks from apple/amazon. so for another dollars they would repair it. when I declined the replacement I paid the service to diagnose, but the thing is is now my keyboard works even work than when I brought it in. I basically have to take a hammer and chisel to type out a sentence now, which WAS NOT the case beforehand. TAKE YOUR THINGS TO AN ACTUAL APPLE STORE AND DON'T BOTHER...
