If I could give this establishment no stars I would which is unfortunate because we had seen Hotel Becket before during a trip there and thought it looked really charming so I went into this stay really wanting to like it. WORST HOTEL STAY OF MY LIFE! I legit thought we were being punked. Here are my reasons: Sauna barely got hot (least of our problems) Entire Hotel was overrun with partying kids from 10p-2a Partying in the HALLWAY with a blaring stereo after “quiet hours”... what a joke Called the front desk to complain along with 10+ other guests. The desk attendant told me she had received multiple complaints and was on her way up to shut them down. Loud sound of running up and down the hall banging on guest’s doors, screaming, laughing and cursing at each other. Our poor neighbor had a small kid and it was late. When the parents went to ask them to move it into their own rooms because their kid was sleeping they got ganged up on the were cursed and screamed at by these bottom dwellers. 20+ mins later there was still no hotel staff present. I called the POLICE to file a complaint as did others... never heard them come up either. I know we didn’t miss them coming up because the walls at this place are paper thin and the ridiculousness continued. 1hr after my first complaint I walked down to the front desk... there was no one there for about 20 minutes... I waited. During my walk I discovered that these drunk roaches were EVERYWHERE. The desk attendant finally returned only not to assist me immediately but to make additional keys for some of these fools. Finally, I told her I had called and complained, called the police and nothing was being done. THEN, she had the audacity to LIE to my face by telling me she had gone up to the third floor and didn’t hear or see anything....I asked her what time she had gone thinking that’s where she was at while I waited in the lobby and maybe they had quit... but NOPE she told me the time she had gone up which happened to be the same time I was on the phone with her complaining for the first time. Meanwhile my husband was still in the room texting me that they were still being just as loud and were making plans to go to the club and return later... the gift that keeps on giving. I told her that was ridiculous because that’s when I was on the phone with her and asked to speak with a manager immediately and requested a refund and to leave (its around midnight by this time). She then told me that there was NO NIGHT MANAGER on duty and she didn’t have authorization to grant a refund. I voiced my concerns and opinion about this situation respectfully realizing that she was honestly probably too scared to confront the ones causing this nightmare. So we suffered through the rest of the night with slamming doors, sounds of running up and down the halls and listening to their drunken idiotic conversations. Woke up pretty much with the sun to get the hell out of there as soon as possible. Walking to the lobby for check out was like an episode of the walking dead through the parking lot except most of these zombies were stumbling around with their make up smeared halfway across their face and no pants on in between some kids riding their bikes and tricycles. Requested to speak with the manager again...NO MANAGER during the weekend... what a joke. Explained our experience the night before to the supervisor who was apologetic and told us she would love to refund our money but since we paid through Expedia we had to go through them... got her name and called Expedia immediately after we got into the car. Expedia called her and basically she told them that the manager had to be the one to authorize any refund (funny she didn’t mention that to us 10 minutes prior when we were in front of her). Expedia contacted me later that week and stated I was being reimbursed $27.... yes $27 gee thanks....
STAY AWAY.... the people running this establishment are clearly no more competent that the disrespectful individuals we dealt...
Read moreI recently stayed at Hotel Beckett, and I can confidently say it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. We spent over a thousand dollars on this stay, and what we got in return was beyond disappointing.
The issues started in the bathroom. The shower head wasn’t just dripping—it was spraying water everywhere, flooding the bathroom floor. My significant other had to fix it himself, and it’s a good thing he’s a plumber because it was absurd that we had to deal with such a situation at a hotel. The seals on the shower however keep no water in so you'll end up with a floured bathroom anyways and a big puddle in the corner. The shower itself was falling apart, with random parts on the floor that clearly didn’t belong there. To top it off, the bathroom was filthy, covered in hair, including pubic hair, from previous guests. The lack of cleanliness and maintenance was appalling.
The bathroom layout was also incredibly unsafe. The glass shower door is so close to the toilet that one wrong move could cause it to shatter. This is a serious safety issue that the hotel should address immediately.
The bedding was just as bad. The sheets and comforters were dirty and stained, which made me seriously question whether they had been changed at all between guests. Trying to sleep in such an unsanitary environment was impossible.
Our problems didn’t end there. The key card to our room stopped working multiple times during our stay, forcing us to constantly go back to the front desk to have it reactivated. This added to the already frustrating experience.
The parking situation was another major issue. Despite paying for parking, there were no spots available. People without parking passes were taking up spaces, and when we brought this to the staff’s attention, they just said, “We try our best to clear out the parking.” This is simply unacceptable when you’re paying for a service that isn’t being provided.
To make matters worse, the breakfast experience on our third day was a complete disaster. For the first two days, we had no issues getting breakfast. But on the third day, the staff suddenly insisted that we show a special card to prove we were eligible. When we showed them our room card, they refused to accept it and made us go back to our room to retrieve a small piece of paper they supposedly gave us at check-in. After dealing with all the other issues, this was the last thing we needed. When we expressed our frustration, the staff rudely told us, “You guys are just in a bad mood.” The dismissive and unprofessional attitude was completely uncalled for.
It feels like the hotel is more focused on running the bar than on maintaining the rooms or ensuring guest satisfaction. Their priorities are clearly misplaced.
After experiencing all of this, I looked at other reviews and realized that these problems are not isolated incidents. There are tons of similar complaints, yet the hotel seems content to ignore them, offering nothing but empty apologies and a weak “hope you’ll try us again.” It’s clear they’re not interested in making any real improvements.
Overall, Hotel Beckett was a massive disappointment. The poor maintenance, lack of cleanliness, unhelpful staff, and constant inconveniences made for a truly miserable stay. I strongly advise against staying here. We definitely won’t be coming back, and I hope this review helps others avoid the...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Becket the weekend of 6/22. I'd like to preface this by saying that we are by no means picky or difficult guests anywhere we stay, but the service we received at Hotel Becket when unable to access our room was absolutely abhorrent.
The location was great and the price point is what we were looking for. We had a pleasant experience at check-in. Unfortunately, we were having issues with our keys reading right out of the gate (and heard other guests around having the same issues). Luckily, after trying for a bit we were able to access our room. This continued the next morning, and the following night when we returned late (around midnight).
When attempting to access our room around midnight, the reader on the door died - no lights were flashing and the cards were not being read in any capacity. My boyfriend went to the front desk where Thomas was working and told him the issue. Number 1 complaint is Thomas was on Facetime with someone, and stayed on this Facetime call all while coming to the room to help and see what the issue was. I understand that night shift is boring, but God forbid you hang up for a minute to help guests. Number 2 issue is that he wasn't listening to my boyfriend who told him very clearly that the issue was with the door and not the key, and he insisted coming and trying a new key and master key. Once he arrived at our room and tried his keys (still on Facetime, I'll add) he informed us in the most uncaring manner that maintenance was not on the premises and our only alternative was having him unlock a new room for us until the morning when maintenace would come.
While we weren't happy with this solution, we agreed and waited for him to return. When he did, he informed us they had no available rooms and brought us over to their sister hotel nearby, the Tahoe Blue. They also had no rooms available, so Thomas informed the girl at the front desk of the issues we were having. She actually cared about our situation and did everything in her power to assist us (calling management, maintenance, etc.) at nearly 1 am. What was actually appalling is that while she was on her personal phone trying to help us, the hotel phone began to ring and she asked Thomas if he could answer for her and tell the caller they had no rooms available. He looked at her and told her no. He gave less than two craps about our situation and the lengths she was going to to help us. And the girl didn't even work for Hotel Becket, which we were guests of. I really cannot emphasize how terrible the customer service from Thomas was.
Long story short, the girl from Tahoe Blue ended up getting maintenance to come out just to let us in, but they didn't fix the reader, which was fine as we were checking out the next morning. If she's reading this, thank you.
The customer service from Thomas was appalling, and it's safe to say we probably won't be returning to Hotel Becket. On top of the issue getting into our room, we had some smaller issues such as our toilet not flushing unless you played Jenga with the knob, and the bathroom barn-style door not closing unless it was in two very specific spots. Additionally, they gave us bar vouchers since the pool had been filled in and the website hadn't been updated, but the bar was never open past 9-10 PM on...
